Listen listen, HALO Infinite looks -Yoinking!- beautiful and Infinite is 10 years of content right so here’s what I’m saying its not an ODST 2 but instead a side spin off campaign like ODST that follows Alpha-Niner but you play as the new Rookie (Romeo will make that joke at the beginning upon meeting you Dutch will say have some respect yada yada) but this new character isn’t just any other Spartan its your spartan the one from 4 from spartan ops from 5 your Spartan and you get your own campaign finally just like Reach with its customization but it can still be a silent protag like ODST to let you feel like its your spartan. 343, Microsoft, this idea is yours for free DOOO IT you have 10 years.
P.S. I have put this on YT and Discord just gonna put it everywhere until 343i calls and tells me they’ve seen it and to move on crazy man
I really like the idea of being able to use your own Spartan in Infinite not just for multiplayer but as a campaign sort of feature too. It may not be useful in terms of the actual campaign with Chief, but it would be nice to get an improved Spartan Ops in Infinite that gives us the opportunity to go on missions with our own Spartans.
I don’t buy into the whole “10 years of content” thing, because for a FPS with a fairly static/main campaign, I just don’t see it as realistic. Bungie/Activision said the same thing about Destiny 1, and what, four years later they launched Destiny 2? I would say 5 years of serviced and updated gameplay is the maximum I would expect to see. I mean if you think about it in terms of recent history, 10 years ago we were all playing Reach DLC on Xbox 360. Now we’re on XBSX, where LED flat screen TV’s are twice the size and half the price of the LCD’s from that time, and we’re looking forward to Halo Infinite (Halo 4, Halo 5, MCC, Halo Wars 2 have all come out in that time between). 10 years on one constantly updated game doesn’t make a ton of sense to me.
I’m sure we’ll see more creative DLC, larger free updates, and a lot of support for Halo Infinite well into 2024 in all aspects of the game. But what we get and how it’s paid for and the quality of the content is just all pure speculation at this point.
I would like 4+ player Spartan Ops open Campaign. I noticed tons of little ₹ looking sticks in the ground around the Ring that seemed like a comms system. Reminds me of how in Destiny you can walk up to them beeping to get a new open world mission task. I would really enjoy a similar open RPG Spartan Ops system with friends and randoms
Damn, ya’ll really digging into the archives for this one.
Didn’t I say that game support lasts more like 5 years instead of 10 though? I didn’t talk about quantity, and 2022 would be the fifth year of continued service and update for D2.
