So new halo game, what are everyone’s thoughts on it from the trailer? Personally I enjoyed seeing plenty of natural wildlife on a halo ring along with the crisper graphics.
trailer was kinda disapointing, mainly because there was no real story told. its just like hey here is a halo ring, here some marines and ofc there is chief. kinda would of prefer a cgi trailer with an idea of where the story is going. Engine looks nice though. Still it just goes to show they delayed halo because they had to change the story to make it focus on chief again, hence spencer saying " all chief and his biggest challenge yet" ect lol
overall its nice we got somthing halo, just shame it wasnt really any cool story info to chat about. Also its a huge indication that halo 6 is a way off, i wouldnt be surprised if we dont see it until 2020.
(Incoherant screaming)
Okay but in all seriousness though I am a little dissapointed we didn’t see any story elements…but I suppose thats to be expected. I get the feeling it wont be coming out this year. Which means they’re taking their time with it. Which, I hope, means that it will be amazing.
A lot of the issues with previous Halo games have been due to rushed time schedules. Seems Microsoft realized that 343 needs time to work.
As for a glimpse of the art style, I think it’s a nice direction they’re pointing too. Love to see a halo ring again.

To be honest every Halo game had the ability to be awesome if it wasn’t for time constraints. Not to mention that 343 will also be doing test runs of the game with limited amounts of people to make sure it feels perfect on launch.
I’m just pissed they teased it this year with everyone saying “it HAS to happen”, I was hoping they wouldn’t announce till next year in order to teach patience.

I saw that! If they listen to the feedback, this could be MAGNIFICENT.

I just hope they keep sprint and ADS as I feel those were some actual good additions to the series. Obviously there is still some fine-tuning to do sprint wise so it’s more of a trade off. The game from what I can tell is most likely suedo open world and we are using that Halo ring to rally UNSC personal before a strike at the created. Might even be the ring from HW2. The Marines looked like the ones from that game as well so crossover confirmed.

Well it wouldnt make much sense to leave the Spirit of Fire out of the fight AGAIN would it XD.
I heartily agree on all points as well. If not psudo-open world then, at least, open-ended, as CE and earlier games were. You have a large field; there are enemies, there are friendlies, vehicles and weapons. You handle it how you want too.
I felt that was rather missing from Halo 4, and SERIOUSLY from 5 for the most part.

Pretty much summarised how I felt when I saw it and post conference thoughts
I’m dissapointed, and feel bit of anger (I guess)
Try to hold myself not to curse…but it’s so hard.
Can’t believe they prepared and waited with this for the E3. Halo supposed to be the flagship, is it not? Not a single word about what the game would be about.
Ohh and let’s not forget the Halo TV series…still nothing.
So yes, thanks for nothing, keep Halo: Fireteam Raven to yourself.
Sorry, fellas but that’s what I feel.
The ancient carvings on the wall seems to catch to my eye and plus at the end John has a chip (that is lit up blue) at the end… very interesting !

I recommend you read the official post about the game here on waypoint. The trailer also looks much better outside of the e3 presentation.

I agree with the point about H5/4 as while the story was good for 4 the lack of open ended progression seriously hurt the games.
Now that I think about it the only Halo games where there was a good deal of flexibility to levels were ODST, CE (even though it still funneled you to points) and level 3 or Reach. Man I really can’t wait for more info on Halo infinite.

It is, but don’t forget that the trailer main point was to show the engine. That means probably nothing in the video relates to the actual game. Like almost the Halo 5 teaser to the H5 Guardians.

I did before I wrote here.
its a continuation of halo 5 story from the post on the main page so the story does go on. im glad they are not dropping it. They will probably go back to a halo 1 vibe where your on a halo ring the entire game, probably stuck there because cortana knocked out all but infinity, chief hooking up with marines and probably an open world or a much larger world to explore and investigate. im sure we all have wanted to just exsplore a halo ring in there own time. this would fit in as well with them making a entire new engine so we can do just that.
the idea of the game is great, just a shame we wont be getting a Halo for at least another year or 2. but hey we going back to a halo ring and focus on master chief again, confirmed in 343i post as well , good stuff. get ready for a long wait guys, lets hope its worth the wait.
I actually think it looks pretty cool.
I rewatched the trailer, and the graphics look great, similar to Halo 2 Anniversary’s art style with greater detail and polish.
My guess is that it could be some sort of open world game, otherwise why else would they show off so much nature, as you mentioned. Most Halo trailers cater towards the campaign, teasing the direction that the story is going to take, because that is the main focus of the linear FPS games. However, modern open world games such as Red Dead 2, GTA V, The Witcher 3 show off the different environments and the wildlife in the world you’ll play in, because the biggest element of these types of games is the vast world you can explore. The scene of the Warthog driving across the bumpy terrain as our point of view swoops into view of the rest of the ring, could also support my speculation.
It’s also interesting how Master Chief has gone back to his old Mark VI armour. It says on a post my 343i that this takes place after Halo 6, so maybe they just decided to return back to the old style because it’s what the fans love? I wouldn’t be mad. And perhaps this game could be Halo’s take on a GR: Wildlands sort of open world game, I personally really enjoyed that game, so it’d be interesting to see (if this actually does happen) how they go about doing that.
If my instinct is correct, 343i will be satisfying a dream I’ve had since I first played Halo… But we’ll have to see! I’ll gladly accept that I’m just fantasising and that I’m actually completely wrong, but who knows!?
OR THEY’RE CASHING OUT ON THE BATTLE ROYALE GAME MODE AND THIS IS JUST AN OPEN WORLD HALO BATTLE ROYALE GAME WHERE 100 SPARTANS ARE DROPPED ON A HALO RING.

I agree. halo infinite wasn’t the best choice. and halo raven… even worse. but my reason is more directed towards that they use valuable game making time for side games, instead of halo 6. complete the Reclaimer saga, then make all the side games you want.
The graphics were near CGI level, and I do hope the real game will come close to that level. The art style seems like a return to classic Halo- which IMO has interesting reprecussions.
Overall, this trailer has made me… afraid, tbh.
I’m afraid that my current and very safe bet is for Halo: Infinity to be a neXbox launch title in 2020. And I’m afraid that 343i are, again, taking a very swift U-turn from everything they previously planned.
Undoubtedly, the universe was in a very precarious place- which is why I understand the choice to portray the game on alk fronts as a return to the old. In some ways, as a Halo player who’s been there from the beginning, that really gets the nostalgia going.
Because, tbh, this demo seems almost like a recreation of Halo CE’s first demo ever for the Mac, with the Halo and the openness of the world, and the wildlife.
But as I said, I’m afraid- because I feel like one more time, the pendulum is tipping. It does not seem to me like any of 343i’s plans ever stick. They took Halo 4 and essentially rebooted the franchise, then tried soft-rebooting the franchise again in 5 with a bunch of new characters and some unique gameplay that blends old and new. But now, it looks like yet another reboot is on the way. And who’s to say it’ll be the last? Who’s to say this next game won’t sell poorly, even if its the best Halo ever, and then Halo 7 will reboot the franchise for a fourth consecutive time for a Battle Royale fiesta? I feel like the series is desperately grasping at any available straws, screaming at me for attention.
So, here we go. Yet another soft-reboot, and the third in a row. But Infinity is different- because believe it or not, if this one doesn’t stick the landing the franchise will crash and burn.
Hopeful, but worried all that’s left to say is… Godspeed, 343i

This teaser is merely admitting the game exists, which definitely had to happen. Not for 343i, but for Microsoft- who are in such a desperate position exclusive-wise compared to their competition that they could literally not afford not to show Halo after a three year break.
