Halo infinite : CUSTOMIZATION BUILT ON A LIE

Before going full keyboard warrior.

  1. I’m full on in support of 343 Industries or any gaming developer that has me investing time into there product.

  2. Regardless of your opinion / stance of 343 Industries and the current state of Halo Infinite ; be constructive in your arguments, keep it Halo related, if you’re going to compare other games, do so constructively and Keep it clean.

  3. Regardless of what we do as a community, there is a 99.9% chance that the Halo Infinite Shop won’t change, if it does, it won’t be drastic, as in the prices won’t be slashed to half of what they are now. 343 Industries has made it pretty clear that they are not backing down from the micro-transaction prices.
They stated they will make Adjustments But in time we will see, as of now though, this is the current state…
Look to Halo 5’s Micro-transaction system and the backlash they faced at the release of the game, NOTHING CHANGE in prices. ( REQ Packs )

Halo Infinite’s Customization expose that 343 Industries never planned on giving players a chance to unlock armor through gameplay WITHOUT enforcing its player base to drop money onto the game to an extent.
( Season Pass )

If the season pass / passes didn’t exist or had a 3 - 6 month delayed release after multiplayer’s launch, everyone would look the same, just different armor coating’s.

  • Unless you were to spend money on the in game shop.

Remove the Season 1 Battle-Pass and you’re left with virtually nothing for the player base to unlock / obtain through gameplay.

I made a post about past Halo titles Vs Halo Infinite in regards to How bad Micro-transactions are, if you have the time, feel free to check it out, its locked, but it gives an insight on how drastic 343 flipped the switch with handling Halo.

What real changes would you like to see 343 Industries do with Halo Infinite’s Customization options?

  • Me personally, I’d like to see a Credit system like Halo MCC or Halo Reach, both had / have an amazing credit system.
Credits were obtainable just by playing Multiplayer matches, Completing challenges and by campaign, thus giving the campaign replay value. With Halo Infinite, once you land in the boat of finishing the campaign, unlocking everything, from FOBS, Audio Logs, Propaganda Towers, Skulls, Targets / Bosses, “ Armor Lockers " ( Armor Coatings ) and Easter eggs ; Then there really isn’t much to do anymore and there isn’t much replay value to the Campaign that costed $60.00, As for Campaign multiplayer unlocks, you just get paint jobs, No armor, nothing but a achievement for beating the game / story.

Halo Infinites Multiplayer Replay value is literally how much have you dropped on the game???

You pass the Campaign $60.00 Marker yet?

I don’t comprehend why 343 Industries didn’t implement a in game earn-able currency like Halo Reach or The Master Chief Collection… Especially going “ FREE ” to Play with Halo Infinite.

Do you really not know why they didn’t implement a way to earn credits? I guess technically we can’t know for sure, but the simplest explanation is money. And you know what Occam’s Razor says. I mean, they even admitted recently they knew not everyone would be happy with this type of monetization, so it definitely wasn’t for our benefit. Hence it must be for their benefit, which implies money.

its a free multiplayer and you just want free earnable in game currency? talk about entitlement and being greedy.

MCC did that because you already payed for the game
Reach was the same

This game was free, Campaign was 60 for the campaign story. I dont go to the gas station and tell the guy hey, give me some earnable gas for free so i can fill my truck

All i hope is that this backlash leads to them implementing something like gears 5 did. After all the complaints they simply removed the awful FOMO daily store, scrapped Daily and weekly challenges being the only way to unlock content, split unlocks from progression meaning you earned credits to buy skins instead of grinded for said skins which was nice.

Although Gears 5 is dead, this was a great change and i feel would work perfect for this game especially since past battle passes will always be accesible.

Yawn we heard enough of the “But its free!” excuses. Why did you even feel the need to reply, when you have nothing to offer the conversation?

No one asked for it to be free. LITTERALLY NO ONE

Exactly! If 343 announced they will have a one time 60 dollar purchase and it replaces all the store item prices with credits, and adds credits as a currency based on progression and challenges WE would buy that in a heartbeat!

They won’t do it tho. The whales are already spending thousands and they wouldn’t want to get rid of the free players that are there just cause it’s free

How does this change anything? Yes it is free, but lots of other free games have progression systems. Lots of other free games have earnable currency. Hell most free games even give you premium currency in their battle passes. Halo has some work to do for sure in this department.

Free to play never meant free to customize.
Alot of players already had bad vibes from f2p announcement.

But there are alot of things which need not be just because of f2p model.
Coating restrictions are one. No cross-core is another. These are both important customization options which do not affect the business model of buying additional cosmetics at all, and in fact, these systems heavily discourages players from exploring out of their favourite cores.

Instead of potentially buying multiple armor sets across cores and mixing and matching, you now killed their interest in every single armor set except the one they like. They will not waste money on something they CANNOT use.

Idk how 343’s business team does not see this.

Yeah, I’ve liked some of the sky blue coatings for MK VII, but why would I buy when I use MK V [B]. Being single core is a massive deterrent. And we know crosscore works just fine. Bots do it, and the waypoint glitch allows us to preview it.

or it was mean that way then some higher up exc thought to pull this and thought it would be fine and now the dev team are trying to get it back to what it was meant to be cause they like us hated that idea

Look, I’m not one to instantly hate on a game because it’s F2P (like 90% of this forum), but this isn’t actually as entitled or greedy as you think. There are games that do allow the acquisition of currency that you can also buy, and there is data that suggests once you get a free player to interact with the store by using “sweat currency,” they’re more likely to open their wallet.

If they gave a small amount of credits per challenge (5, 10, 15, 20 based on the difficulty of the challenge), I don’t think it’ll massively impact their revenue, and players will always have a reason to complete challenges even if they’re at max level. After a few weeks a free player would be able to purchase a 500 credit pack, or they could save up 2000 for something big. I don’t think this would be unreasonable.

They messed up on their first free event and said it was due to a marketing error.

When I bought the battle pass they took my money with no issues and everything went as intended :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You act like I asked for multiplayer to be free.

I didn’t.

All I know is 343 made a hell of a lot of false promises and most of it was to get players on board with the broken battle pass/pre-order.

What happened to making a quality type of game for the player base? Was it really worth taking a dump on the player base just to sell their product?

This should have been in the game when it launch. There is absolutely no excuse for it not to be.

Just saying, this happens to be the dumbest thing I’ve read in over a week.

Yet, somehow stripping the game to Barbone that even the open-world that is a mess to sell a piece at a time to the player base is okay? :man_facepalming:

News flash! you really need to do your research on what 343 “said was to be expected” in this game when it launched before making an absurd reply like this.

I feel like you watch timcast. He’s the only one that uses that phrase often

I’m sure they also said things would be subjected to change. Of course I would imagine those changes would be related to money nonetheless :money_mouth_face:
