As a onyx i obviously understand the system better than someone whose highest rank is diamond along with 75 percent of the population. If i were a diamond i wouldn’t be out here giving ranked advise. As someone who started from the bottom all the way to the top Champion #1, id be happy to give advice! If you want to get out of that wreched diamond rank don’t search by yourself find a full team!!! Just a little pro tip ther my guy!
Been playing against higher ranked since day 1 due to playing with higher ranks, never been miserable.
So you say I shouldn’t play ranked, just go play social. That sounds like a perfectly solution! Won’t help my rank at all and I’ll never get to play rank! Wow your a peach! Been playing social and there’s not drive to make you want to do well, nothing to work for. Can’t communicate with anyone searching solo which makes a team based game a little more difficult than searching with a team.
You are trying to root for this newer matchmaking system because you like it, great good for you. We don’t like it and aren’t going to so please stop. You are not in my shoes and therefore cannot understand where I am coming from and how this literally crushed my gamer spirit. I used to really enjoy this game and I hate shooter games, so just allow us to post or grievances as halo support states we need to do.
So disband the team thats played together for years to cater to players searching solo in a 4 player playlist this is of course ridiculous which is why in over 20 years this is unheard of! It’s not difficult for me to grab my wifes controller as an onyx and wipe the floor with any and every spartan i come across how do you think solo diamond and lower player’s would feel about that🤣 that is exactly the system they are implementing when there was no need before so if you’re Diamond or lower sorry for ya😉
And they still can sandbag and smurf they just have to rank the sandbag and smurf up first this doesn’t solve anything just makes them have to work a little bit, the only thing this does is make the teams that actually play as a team unable to donso unless they rank up their lowest teammate(s)

Why should the team have to go to social when the solo is searching in a team based playlist? Think about that… the full team searching in a team based playlist should go to social because a solo player is searching in a team based playlist? Make this make sense to me please.
Once he hits diamond I cannot play. He’s an onyx level player and I’m a silver rn but usually gold… the lowest rank on my team, the other ladies are Platinum and diamond. There will be a 1000 crs difference once he’s an onyx so therefore I can’t play with my team. I’m not stupid, I know there is social, we’ve played a lot of it which you would know since you looked us up. I want to play ranked with my team as I have for years but can’t because of the little butt hurt people who play a 4 person team based game by themselves. Don’t search for 3 random teammates if you are trying to win or do well in ranked. Unranked players can play with ranked players as long as they are a low rank because I’ve played doubles with Unranked people. I find this system completely flawed because I’ve been unranked with an unranked teammate and found Platinum opponents? Explain to me how I cannot team up with a Platinum but I can have them as an opponent? How is this fair? How does your perfect system place me in a match I am supposedly not skilled enough to play with let alone against? Did I run to 343 and complain? No, I played the game. I have a team and we, practice and develop strategies, everybody has this same opportunity and yet they chose to search as a single. I’m being penalized because my team practices and works together? I don’t lose my cool because i lost to all Platinums, diamonds, and/or Onyx. So to play ranked I need to go find new female friends that are low in rank… do you know what it’s like for me as a female gamer to find decent human beings let alone decent female gamers on xbox? Plus the fact that they have to be a low rank! So I’ll probably just have my husband play on my account, rank it up, then slay with my team. Then all the little butt hurt players can complain that there’s no way I’m that high of a rank and bla bla bla, still a silver/gold player portraying a Platinum/diamond player! I play the modes my team plays, why should our team have to quit ranked because we have a gold, Platinum, diamond, and Onyx. If I can be pitted against high ranks as an unranked person, then a ranked person can be pitted against a team of 4 different ranks. Bring back TSR and do away with CSR. With CSR matchmaking why even have MMR? Pick on or the other. Just matchmake with the teams MMR instead of each individual, it is a team based playlist… guess 343 is taking the “There’s no I in team, but there’s me” stance because they matchmake based on the highest ranking individual instead of the team. How about when matchmaking, match like teams against other like teams, like singles with other like singles, and so on. If 4 people are searching, then place them with 4 people searching… I’ve read where other people are just playing on friends accounts to rank them up so I guess the CSR matchmaking isn’t really fixing anything, just making low ranked people pretending to be higher ranked.
Then you understand the problems that widely ranked squads cause - and why they have made a move to minimise them.
And why a lot of other games just ban them outright.
Luckily for me then I haven’t actually given any rank advice.
But that’s the point.
You aren’t miserable - because you are playing with friends. Friends who are looking out for you.
The poor lackey on the other side who is offered up to balance the sides didn’t ask to be slaughtered by your husband and his mates.
And chances are they don’t have an Onyx level buddy or two looking out for them.
Kind of assumed that your friends would still play with you.
My mistake.
It does affect me too. I have some Gold / Silver friends that we can’t play ranked with because it’s jars against my Onyx level buddies.
But I accept the decision because it makes sense.
In season 2, as a solo player, I was swamped with games vs manipulating squads. I even hit the same team three times in placement. And it was -yoink- because they were unbeatable as a solo player.
And again. I concede you are not necessarily doing it to deliberately milk CSR. But that’s what can happen when you have wide range squad structures. It makes it difficult to construct a fair games vs other players - and it likely provides poor data for TrueSkill2 to rank you on.
You don’t have to like it. Nor stop.
But it doesn’t change the reasons behind why 343 did it.
Not sure how that will help.
You’ll just raise the quality of your opponents and make it even harder for your wife to compete.
It’s difficult.
What would you have the MM do?
Let’s say your team is Onyx - Onyx - Onyx - Silver.
What team structure would you like to play against - that is fair and equitable for the opposition?
The fairest solution is to keep you in MM until an identical squad comes along. But I’m pretty sure you’d get sick of waiting.
