Does anybody know whether Halo infinite will be cross play between console & steam? Because id prefer to on console as thats where i always play halo but my friends will be playing in steam. I know cross play with be available between windows store on pc & console but ive not heard anything about steam & console

Take this with a grain of salt because I don’t remember where I saw it, but I’m pretty sure they said crossplay will be there.

Same, can’t remember where I saw it, but I’m also pretty sure it’s been confirmed, maybe an inside infinite or an ask343?
I think they talked about how competitive games would always be input based though

I’m fairly certain that there will be crossplay. This is an Xbox title, after all.

Yes it will be.

Yep. Cross play is a go.

Ranked is definitely separated by input (controllers or KBM).

I assume you can use what you like in customs.

Yes crossplay is confirmed. Ranked will have input matchmaking though so that could throw a wrench in your plans if you were looking to play ranked with m/k people while you’re on controller.

Halo Infinite crossplay: Social playlists and custom matches are open to all, you can play on any platform and any device with anyone you like! For ranked matches, we plan to restrict competitive playlists based on input type, not console versus PC. That’s because we believe the input is the biggest differentiator in gameplay ability (with things like aim assist on the controller or the precision of sniping with a mouse). You can play with a controller on your PC to play ranked with your console friends, or even mouse and keyboard on your console to play ranked with your PC friends.

Yes they have confirmed cross play between console and Steam as others have said. To add on to that the way that friends and invites will work will most likely be through xbox live even if you are on steam, as in order to play Infinite on steam you will need to link your xbox account to your steam account. It should work very similarly to the way MCC works currently with cross play and invites and such.

I love the cross progression aspect. That was my major concern for achievement hunting on counting requirements.
