Halo Infinite Crosshair

So Halo 5 was the first Halo to introduce the centered crosshair (as apposed to it previously being slightly below the center in all previous games) Do we want the centered crosshair to return? Or do we prefer it the previous classic way?

Edit: I noticed that the Mcc Reach for PC looks like it will have a centered crosshair based on the community update pictures I saw.

Halo ce also had a centered crosshair. I hope they bring back an option for it in HI.

All of the games that are being ported to steam should have the option for centered crosshairs because it will make the game feel a lot better with higher FoVs and Keyboard and mouse.

Centered definitely helps with the blind skull on SLASO runs. Surely its pretty easy to get used to any way aiming is designed but center of the screen is pretty common placement.

Otherwise it shouldnt matter too much, as long as it fits the gunmodels. As in the gun points towards the crosshair and not slightly off.

Centered for sure. I never got why they lowered it in the first place, it’s just weird. Anyone know why?

Some people didn’t like the ground taking up half the screen, especially when the games are pretty multi-dimensional and there’s often enemies above you.

I don’t see why there couldn’t be an option to choose. I’ve never cared one way or the other, but I can definitely see the justification behind a lowered crosshair in a highly vertical game like Halo.

I guess that makes sense. I think instead of lowering the reticle they should just add an FOV slider. That or make it optional whether you want centered or not.

Changing the field of view doesn’t change how the screen real estate is used proportionally. if 50% of your screen is ground, 50% of it is still going to be ground when you increase the field of view. If some people want to use their screen more effectively, and others feel more comfortable with a centered crosshair, then the only option is to let people choose.

I like the old one better in halo 3.

True it’d still be 50/50 when centered but that 50% is going to be bigger with a 90 FOV than a 70 FOV. Could just have both, doesn’t need to be either or really.

Like glitched said, it being lower allowes you to see the environment much better, giving you better immersion. Also, since opponents will often be in the air, you can see those opponents without taking your crosshair off head level. tbh, I really want to see low crosshair to return, or at least for it to be an option in halo infinite.

I think 343 should give us options like we currently have in MCC, centered or lowered crosshair as well as a FOV adjustment so players can adjust the point of view to the way each individual prefers. I think with Halo Infinite we may see more options in settings than most console games have had in the past that were common on pc games, the game is being designed to be played on Xbox and PC with both having controller and mouse and keyboard support.

Definitely agree, making it an option is the way to go.
