Halo infinite crashing on Xbox series x?

Anyone having this issue? Halo infinite will crash and kick you to dashboard. Mostly in mid game or sometimes even in the menu. It’s just random…

series X here and i’ve only had infinite crash 1 or maybe 2 times at max.

Bought an XSX at Xmas for Halo Infinite, and within a few weeks I had to send it back for full refund as it started shutting down completely and this got progressively worse. I’ve bought another XSX but haven’t played on it yet so will post again if any similar issues.

Happened to me last night in BTB. I swapped from the warthog gunner to the driver seat and the game hard crashed me to the Xbox Home Screen.

I have my XSX set on 1440p at 120fps running on my new monitor that’s 1440p and can also run 120fps and have the game set to performance and wondering if the game just can’t keep up and that’s whats causing it to crash. Even tho it supports these options. Even tried 1080p at 120fps and had the same issue. May have to go to quality mode and try it at 60fps to see if it still crashes but when it does crash it will happen 3 to like 6 times playing the game for about 5-6 hrs. And my xbox has plenty of room for airflow so I know it’s not overheating because it’s also crashed on my second game on when the xbox was completely off and unplugged for the night. It happen mainly in ranked matches on mp which is super frustrating. But has also happen on custom games and just on the menu after a game. Freezes and go straight to dashboard and it’s even turned my XSX off completely. That has happened twice now…

Yes, please let me know because I still have a warranty too. Tempted to send mine back or even just sell it and get a series s because this is so annoying.

I use the exact same settings and my console never had any issues with airflow either (plus I did all the fault finding/resolutions suggested on the internet). My issues started whilst playing campaign then it started happening in MP…the worst was it happened 5 times in one night then I gave up and sent the console back for a refund.

I do believe that for me this was a hardware issue as this place would literally be full of XSX players complaining about it…but it’s obviously not. I can only hope that my new XSX doesn’t suffer with the same issues.

I’d send it back under warranty if it’s shutting itself down. I was lucky that mine was less than 2 months old and Amazon agreed to give me a full refund, but under Microsoft warranty replacement they may only give you a refurbished unit (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you’ve had it a while but not acceptable IMO for a brand new console).

I believe I’m in the same situation as you because mine has done it back to back too even with trying every solution there is from resetting the xsx to factory by deleting games and app, power cycling the Xbox. Deleting my profile off the Xbox and reinstalling the game a few times… and I always quit the game from quick resume because I know that’s been a issue with other games. Tried a few other things too that Microsoft recommended and nothing is working. I wouldn’t think it would have anything to do with the monitor but I haven’t tried to play long enough on my tv to see if it will crash because it seems silly to me if it was the monitor.

Yeahs it’s brand new but bought it brand new sealed from a 3rd party trying to make more off it cause it’s hard to get of course. Paid $100 more than retailed price for it…

Yeah I highly doubt it’s related to the monitor as it’s clearly a console issue and we only connect to the monitor via the provided 2.1 HDMI cable. What monitor do you have?

Ouch! Your only option then is Microsoft warranty replacement. The process is relatively straight forward on their website…and they may even give you a new unit depending on stocks (refurb is most likely though).

Happening on PC today too. Just got banned because this heap of garbage crashed so many times. I’m ONE challenge off from Zeta helmet ffffffs

I got The Halo series x edition the first day was released and since then It has only froze three times while I was playing a game and every time it’s been halo infinite. Every time it just freezes and boots me to home screen. I’ve played other games on it, Xbox One and series X games and I’ve never had an issue. Just Halo infinite.

Just another issue to add to the pile of issues with Halo infinite. No it doesn’t happen often for me and it’s been pretty rare but that’s not the point. Pretty sad how Infinite has really messed up so many things, especially how the gameplay is solid.

Just on halo infinite? That’s the only game I really play so I can’t tell on other games. But it hasn’t happen on forza when I have played that or warzone.
