Halo Infinite co-op

What do you think about Halo Infinite’s co-op? Would you prefer your own multiplayer character as player 2, or maybe Master Chief clones like the originals? Or a CANONIZED character that’s sent to work alongside you? Would you prefer classic co-op where you die after your shields and health are depleted, or Halo 5 styled co-op where you can command your second player and revive each other if incapacitated?

I honestly don’t really have a preference as to whether players 2-4 should be my multiplayer character or a Chief clone. I do think it’s pretty funny to have 4 Chiefs running around, but having your multiplayer character there would be cool to show off all the cool customizations that you got. A canon character would also be really cool, but from the way Infinite is looking right now, that is probably not the way its going to go. I do prefer the classic co-op where you just die after losing all your health, as it got a little annoying reviving the dumb AI teammates in Halo 5. That honestly was probably only an issue because I played the game solo, and it doesn’t look like you’ll have AI companions that you can revive in Infinite, but I preferred the push and pull of the classic version where if someone died, the other player needed to find a safe area so that people could respawn.

I’d love a canonical character like P2, 3, 4 in Halo 3, but I expect it would be a Noble-6 style use of your MP spartan

I think a canonized character would be cool but it wouldn’t work with the story because at one point you would noble six helping you make it to the strip scene and another it’s noble six and the arbiter or one more with neither which makes story making very confusing and I hope there are little scenes like in halo 4 that are 1p only

I would be fine with a canonized, clone cheif squad or a multiplayer co-op Spartan since I really don’t have a preference towards it but I disliked the revive mechanic for H5 especially solo since you would usually die before the a.i. would reach you even if it was 5 feet away not to mention how it affected legendaries balancing for H5

I originally thought no revives until checkpoints like legacy Halo; however, with how open world Infinite is, that may be a hard decision. What about respawn beacons spread thru the map (guarded vs not?)? You have to go travel to one to call in “reinforcements” (I.E. revive the other player(s).

Since when has it been no respawn until checkpoint? It’s always been that you respawn when your teammate gets to a safe place.

ah sorry mate, it’s been a while since i’ve played coop campaign. I might have been mistaken. Is it that way at higher tiers (Legendary?)

Nope, afaik it’s always been that when your teammate dies, you get a message pop up on your screen telling you why they can’t respawn. like “moving too fast” or “enemies nearby” and you need to stand still or move normally (no vehicle) at a distance from all enemies to let them respawn.

yeah it’s always been that way no matter the difficulty. The only one not like that is Halo 5.

I actually really want both player 1 and 2 to be able to be multiplayer spartans. I.e. your spartan can stand in and sound like chief in the campaign. It isn’t crazy to think that chief might wear custom armor, or that we could all have our own armor set for him.
