The price is back up in the shop again, if you can call it a shop, if we got cross core armour I could understand it, if we got multiple colours and effects that aren’t locked to sets or weapons I could understand, but we dont.
I want to support the game, but I cant justify the prices that completed AAA live service games which have so much more content and polish supply, but halo charges way above that.
When I see the prices I just worry that its a final grab and run with the money, because the money there bringing in is being allocated to cheap fractures events instead of core gameplay.
Their explanation is ridiculous too. Apparently it’s due to rarity. God, why are they attaching rarity to something you buy with a click.
It seems that all they’ve done is look at other games, and just copy and paste systems blindly.
Apex has lootbox rarities. LoL has lootbox rarities. Overwatch has lootbox rarities.
Halo Infinite deciding to not go Lootbox should not go rarity. Just straight up pack that pack full to the brim with customization, then jack up the price.
That way it justifies its own value.
Because they are going to probably bring back REQ packs once War Zone makes its return, and thus all cosmetics that players have missed out on can be bought with our credits in a raffle, hence why items have a stupid “Rarity” applied to them as they have pre-assigned RNG in the files.
There is no real rarity your right, theres no luck or roll system, and everything is artificially made rare because they wont add a actual shop front, just a chosen selection to create the FOMO they said they wouldnt have in this game
If that’s the case, why not have that in the backburner? Can’t they code something that doesn’t show up until they meet certain parameters?
343 has a terrible reputation when it comes to “backburner” concepts.
But honestly, they are probably focusing on how to rework the REQ system, since in Halo 5 you were only able to customize your helmet, visor, full-body armor, stance, emblem, assassination, and 5 weapon skins.
Halo Infinite lets you select your -
- Armor Core
- Armor Kit
- Armor Coating
- Helmet
- Helmet Attachment
- Visor Color
- Chest
- L. Shoulder
- R. Shoulder
- Wrist Attachment
- Gloves
- Utility Attachment
- Knee Guards
- Armor Effect
- Mythic Effect
- Armor Decal
- Playercard Decal
- Vehicle Decal
- Weapon Decal
- Weapon Kits
- Weapon Coatings
- Weapon Charms
- Weapon Cosmetics
- Kill Effect
- Vehicle Coatings
- Vehicle Cosmetics
- Player Stance
- A.I. Companion
- A.I. Color
- Assassinations (eventually I presume)
So I would have to assume that they are reworking the REQ System raffles so that the smaller Bronze REQs give you just basic stuff when it comes to War Zone requisitions.
Then Silver REQs start giving you good stuff for cosmetics.
Then Gold REQs give you stuff for armor and better War Zone Requisitions.
Then Diamond/Mythic REQs, which I predict are going to be only bought with Microtransaction Credits, would give you the best of the best when it comes to cosmetics in terms of rarity.
My point is that with how much more there is to obtain in Halo Infinite compared to Halo 5 Garbageians, they have A LOT OF REWORK OVERHAULING to do on the REQ system.
I just hope they have it so that like with Halo 5 Gorbians’ REQ system, we get NO DUPLICATES in the lootbox when it comes to cosmetic items.
Very much doubt they’re adding a req system after H5. The rarity is just an arbitrary tag to determine how valuable they want you to think something is, but it means absolutely nothing substantial. Only difference might be a colour looks more saturated or shiny, an armor piece more distinct.
What gets me is they haven’t even made all of the items in the code itself, sometimes in the armoury itself, accessible. CQB & the campaign unlocks have been in the game but unable to be acquired since day one. Idk what on earth is going on there tbh.
I mean 343 decides how often these items appear in the store or in events so i guess it could still be considered rare. For all we know, the leadbelcher pack, being all legendary rarity, might not appear again for purchase for years to come. Why? Because they can. They say its rare so its rare. Im not a fan of it but it is what it is.
