Halo Infinite Campaign thoughts

Hi everybody! So I’ve read a lot of the different threads on this forum about what kind of campaign Halo Infinite is going to have. I personally hope that the campaign will have some open world parts or aspects but not be completely open world. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like a totally open world Halo game would detract from the story. What do you guys think?

So something like the Tomb Raider or Borderlands games? Where it’s not one giant cohesive open world but more like hubs that are open but separated via progressing through the story. I’d be cool with that. Though you can still have an amazing story even if the game is open world, The Witcher 3 for example.

Just give me something similar to Combat Evolved. I don’t mind narrow corridors every so often as long as they open up into bigger spaces. I think CE nailed the balance between a linear and open world feel.

I would like a traditional, linearly structured campaign with missions in varying locations, but perhaps more expansive level design that encourages exploration. Perhaps on some missions, if not too time and resource intensive design choice, there could be the possibility of choosing between some significantly different alternate routes through some parts of the mission that lead to different experiences. However, I have to say that I would generally prefer careful level design with attention to detail over huge levels for sake of having huge levels. I think the most important part is giving the player alternative approaches that feel meaningful, and paths that may not be obvious on a first run.
