> Alannah states that the gameplay reveal takes place halfway through the campaign. So if that equals only several hours. Then my goodness… Halo: Infinite campaign is going to be too short for a game that is supposed to last 10 years…

I seriously doubt it’s the campaign they’re currently banking on carrying the game from the release. New “episodes” later, sure, but not this current one.
They’ll most likely release a full priced game which includes the campaign, and multiplayer “bonuses” to “justify the price”, maybe two or three battle passes, or a year’s worth.
A road-map will be shown, things won’t go as planned, there’ll be delays, changes and ideas replaced. The road map abandoned and refered to as only a concept or guideline. There’s litte chance they have 10 years forward staked out for Infinite that they’ll stick to. I even doubt they have five years forward in any more detail than vague concepts where they want to take it and what kind of content they may want to add.
And here’s the thing with “the campaign is bigger”.
It can mean map scale, they can seriously have taken the area of Halo 4’s and 5’s missions, except the Sabre run in 4. Summarised them and compared their Infinite campaign total map size. Unless I missed something, which I probably did.
Remember how extremely vague Frankie was when asked how long in terms of hours Halo 5 was? I sincerely hope Infinite has a lot of time in the campaign, but past i343 actions have me very cautious about anything they say, because what they’ve said about game aspects have been very precise in what it’s targeted at.
Loose quote.
Frankie om Halo 4’s multiplayer: “we don’t want players with a lot of game time to have an advantage over new players”.
That was on map ordnance, meaning that veteran players wouldn’t get an advantage over newer player by having learned spawn timers, object spawning and location.
How that works is true.
If we just forget that maps themselves have choke points, paths and points of interest which may take some time to learn. Weapons and their ideal environments and usage.
Or, or, the best part, that they included gameplay altering items behind locks which could only be unlocked by playing the game, the longer you played the more you unlocked.
