Ok, I have thought of something that made Halo 2 special when I was a kid playing the campaign that I only recently remembered. The campaign didn’t have any load screens! It seamlessly, almost, transitioned from one mission to the next. I know graphically Infinite will have much higher needs, but can I get an Amen on how amazing it would be if Halo: Infinite can bring back seamless cutscene transitions? That feature in Halo 2 made the game feel unique, special, and immersive more than any other game I played at that time. Hopefully, if the trailers are honest and what we’ve seen thus far was produced using the slipspace gameplay engine, then this should be a possible feature.
If you read this 343, thank you for listening!
The texture pop was the trade off for load screens. We gave up cutscenes with full detail for that on the original Xbox…
If we are going for load screens, I really hope they can make it reminiscent of Halo CE. That music while it loads…so glorious. It just takes me back.
I actually don’t mind the load screens, because it leaves the potential for 343 to sprinkle in some great artwork for you to look at while the level loads. Would be cool if the load screen changed to show multiple pieces of artwork.
Scarlett will use and SSD, one of their main goals for the next console is reducing load screens so here’s to hoping they accomplish that across the board, not just in Halo. I’m sure the XB1 will have extremely long load screens.

Yeah but how many games do that? And even though that can be cool, load screens always takes you out of the game. I just feel more immersed in Halo 2 playing on the original Xbox than H2A because of load screens. Granted, the texture pop is kinda annoying as it looks like the game is glitching, but in my opinion it isn’t that bad.
All I hope is that with the power of the new console or PC, I agree XB1 will probably have horrible load times, then seemless transition may be possible because the cutscenes look really good with the Slipspace Game Engine.
