HALO INFINITE campaign feels like its not ready

With the lack of detail, current updates and co-op
It really feels like 343 is not telling us something that is happening in the background

I am really worried, all its seem they care about is online and the free game

I can only imagine all the secrecy is for the sake of surprise because this game was originally supposed to launch in fall 2020. if its still not ready over an entire year later that’d be stupefying.

Pretty sure next week we will start to see everything fall into place…

I dont want to assume just because we haven’t seen anything means its going poorly. the campaign is already finished in 2020 so just these extra graphical changes and maybe extra content is what awaits.

I feel like 343 concentrated more on the multiplayer than they did the campaign. Still hoping for it to be great though.

If campaign was finished a year ago we wouldn’t be seeing co-op delayed.
Of course 343’s public face had been looking at multiplayer, that is where the real money is at, and that is where the public’s attention is with the recent flights. I hope (beg?) to see more specifics on campaign in the next 4-6 weeks.

when i say the campaign is finished i mean all the levels and missions are done. I know the game isn’t gonna be finished when its released and sadly it never is anymore. Even with these set backs i still think the single player campaign is somewhat complete (enough to make me happy). Its too bad companies wont release games that are finished tho.

Campaign was finished, but about the same time we were told it was finished they brought in Staten who apparently had a shopping list of things he wanted changed. This makes me believe that everything would have shipped as one package up until Big Man Joe hopped on board. Whatever he envisioned was clearly on a grander scale than what they had planned.

We’ve seen 8 minutes of gameplay and two story trailers (arguably 3 if you include the reveal trailer). Halo 3 got 2 CGI trailers and one gameplay trailer which was only shown 2 months before launch. The much loved ‘Believe’ trailer/marketing campaign only came out two weeks before the game launched. Before gamescom 343 said we would see the campaign again before launch, so it’s not like we aren’t going to get anything else. I don’t really know why people are so worried, nothing here seems out of the ordinary to me. I think we’ll get a slick gameplay trailer within the next month, and a marketing push during the last couple of weeks before launch.

Reminds me of when I was young, new games or new music albums, you saw like 1 tv ad, or heard 1 song on the radio and the excitement of going to shop the day it came out was awesome. I’m glad there hasn’t been much about campaign, sure, recently it’s all been about multiplayer, iv’e seen enough & it’s gonna be awesome having a real Halo game again. I can wait for co-op, forge etc, it’s a 10 year project so can’t expect everything from day one.
No doubt over the next 8 weeks the hype train just gonna keep on rolling…

We’ll see.

You think it’s going to be bad/unfinished because they haven’t shown very much of it?

That and because its unfinished, no coop, so what else

I mean, 2077 had everything, but the deadline was eventually set in stone. Ya’ll saw how that turned out, basically ruining a bunch of work and destroying a massive amount of story/side quests that were already written.

So idk about the doom and gloom here. Multiplayer launches in two months. Other elements got a 3 month delay, so what?

I swear the gaming community moves the goal posts around a lot.
“We want updates every week”, but also “Well make sure it’s complete”

okay, well we’re going to need more time for X and Y
“Woah, it must be -Yoink-”

The fact they haven’t shown much of it is good thing, going back to 2077. Which is still great story, but you can tell a lot is missing because of executives forcing devs to duct tape a WIP and ship it. They marketed the living -Yoink- out of that.

Meanwhile Battlfield 2042 is a week from launch and it’s like in Alpha, arguably a reskinned BF4 with jank sprinkled on top.

cringe

Is this info you’ve gotten from the leaks or from actually playing the game?

His dad is actually CFO of 343i so he has been playing the campaign for the last month without telling us, until now

One possible scenario is that the campaign is a buggy unfinished mess. If that is the case then 343 will not want to show us anything about it because that would erode consumer confidence. Lets not pretend these concerns aren’t valid, even if you are more optimistic than those that have these concerns.

How do you know it’s unfinished? Sounds like you’re just making things up

Agreed. It’s good to be positive and hopeful but also let’s not be wilfully ignorant to what red flags there are.

Be worried about the game and hope 343 proves you wrong or expect too much and hope you aren’t let down. I think it’s a possibility the campaign went through something of a reset following last year’s reveal, if it was content complete for its original launch the year delay would’ve been more than enough time to get co-op implemented and functioning I would think.

I really don’t think the game will be the kind of technical disaster that cp2077 was but will be incredibly underwhelming to those going in expecting the world.
