I know that myself and a lot of others are holding out on buying an Xbox Series X in the hope that there is a Halo Infinite themed console. While I haven’t seen any official or unofficial announcements about it, the general consensus based on every main Halo game having a themed bundle (Halo is Microsoft’s flagship brand after all) is that there will most likely be a bundle released.
My only hope is that Microsoft does everything they can to initially keep scammer bots from snatching up all of the product. I would not be opposed to it being sold though the beta feature Microsoft was trying out with having legitimate users buying a console through on a console and not on a PC. I was thinking since it’s Halo related, they could put preorder links to Halo Insiders through Waypoint messaging first (not through email because of the issues we saw during the Tech Preview) and not immediately to the general public for at least a week (similarly to how concert tickets are pre-sold to club members first). Or doing something similar like how the Tech Preview was accessed through the Insider App on the console. Also limit quantity to 1 console per preorder request.
I was wondering it anyone else had similar thoughts on this.

How come? So far there hasn’t even been an official listing for Infinite in the Xbox/Microsoft store for pre-order. All I’ve seen so far is Best Buy (a third party seller) listing pre-orders for $59.99 (a standard price). Main Halo titles from Halo 3 and after have all had 2-3 editions (Standard/Heroic/Legendary - Standard/Limited/Collectors) plus a console bundle.
The current manufacturing climate was the reason behind my thought of having exclusive pre-order access for Halo Insiders first to help mitigate that issue.
Speaking of anniversaries, it IS the 20th duel anniversary for Halo and Xbox right now in 2021. I highly doubt 343i and Microsoft are going to pass up that opportunity and not celebrate the partnership with a new themed console.
I have all the halo collector’s editions and even the consoles. I would like so much an xbox series X halo Infinite but I think that 343 will not make it because the xbox is still in shortage unfortunately.
Update: Sold out already almost instantly within 2-10 minutes. This is why I wanted an exclusive preorder so scalpers wouldn’t get them. I had awoken from a nap around 4:20pm and they were gone.
I heard a lot of people who did make an order had glitches while paying and it gave them double/triple orders.

Microsoft should have made it “on-demand” instead, everyone who wanted it could’ve gotten it eventually, but the order would’ve been guaranteed.
Maybe if enough people band together, Microsoft could open up the gates again and take that kind of orders?

Well, technically he/she isn’t wrong. The pre-order was sold-out in a matter of minutes. As such a diehard Halo fan, I am honestly beside myself. I really feel distraught that I never even got the chance.

What’s the Halo theme around what was shown? Nothing on that screams Halo to me.

Heres hoping. I finally got the site to work only for the cart to read sold out upon checkout once I was getting my information in. Been a long time fan like many others and just once I thought I would finally get a themed console when I went next gen…alas rona and scalpers have made this jump to the next gen hardware neigh on impossible

Bits and pieces of the armor pattenered on the console.
For example, the chin piece can be seen next to the disc slit.

I just went for the controller, and actually managed to snag one!

This would be a really good idea, I don’t know how likely this will be to happen though :/. It would at least give people a fair chance at buying it.
Like many other things… this has been bungled as well… so disappointed as I got the email an hour or so ago… and can’t do anything… guess Infinite will sit on the shelf until I can get my hands on the console. If I were Microsoft (which I’m not and I know they won’t do this)… but I’d find each and every single one of those online scalping them and get them back, and level a consequence so great that those individuals will regret what they’ve done… but I know they won’t and I’ll sit here… waiting… and probably won’t ever get my hands on one until the next next gen comes out… it’s a shame really…

I would easily pay double the price now that I’m an adult with a full time job just to have a Halo Infinite Xbox. Boy would that be special. You’re probably right though, with the shortage around the world for console creations it’s highly unlikely that that’ll happen. One can hope though!

Welcome to the world where supply and demand get manipulated at every obstacle and the dollar is truly what runs the world.

It didn’t happen. They literally just threw it into the Microsoft store about 3 hours ago for limited pre-order and within minutes scalpers snatched them and are already listing their “confirmed pre-order” on Ebay for a $1000 or more. One seller listed his purchase with a partial screenshot of his preorder receipt showing he paid $549 (excluding tax) but is reselling at an extreme inflation price of $2,999. WTF. You can buy 5.46 consoles for that amount of money.
