Does anyone know how long the selection process is for their halo infinite beta?. I haven’t been picked yet but I still have hope lol.

I got my Series X on the weekend so I’m hopeful I can help test the game. I’ve not played Halo for a long time and it sure is good to be back.

Nobody has been selected outside of a small group for really early alpha level stuff (that I am assuming was hand-picked).
There likely be a big announcement when they determine the dates for the wider testing groups.

I personally think the Series X pool will be bigger for the Insider program. It’s the flagship console and title-pusher, make sure your Insider profile has it ticked!

I just hope they go into open beta for all quickly. That way everyone can get a taste. I understand why its not doing so immediately. That said with the lip service of year long flights for future titles post 5 this all feels quite far along to start a closed flight.
Flighting happens this summer. I hope the invites will roll out soon.

The Halo 5 beta took place in December of 2014 if I recall correctly so it was almost a full year before the game actually came out. In regards to when they might begin flighting for Infinite, my guess will be the first flights will probably start late July or early August at the latest. It’s sounding like Infinite itself may release late November or early December sometime so even an early August flight would give them about 3 months of feedback time. I don’t know if they will do a completely open beta for the game itself considering the multiplayer will be free to play. There really isn’t a need to convince people to buy multiplayer in the traditional sense since it is free and oftentimes open betas are more like glorified multiplayer demos. Halo 5’s beta was actually the last beta I personally played that felt like it was actually a beta. If they were to do an open beta for Halo Infinite it wouldn’t end up being that different from the final free to play product so at that point they might as well just release multiplayer.

Joseph Staten stated some people already flighting and they will make the circle bigger further into the Summer.
You’ll know if you’ve been selected to play as soon as the Flighting goes live. Until then no one knows if they have been selected. No one even knows when Flights are happening other than “this summer”.
There’s a lot of misinformation on Flights on Twitter and such. I’d only trust the official Halo & Xbox accounts & HaloWaypoint for news on such things. Take everyone else with a grain of salt.
If you want a chance to be selected, be a Halo Insider & have all of your information up to date. You’ll know when the time comes.
I imagine it’ll be VERY soon, as you can pre-install the technical preview on steam right now, and literally just after that went live Halo tweeted reminding everyone to sign up to the Insider program so they can participate in flighting as soon as the technical preview becomes available…
Only thing I can suggest is to keep Insider updated and maybe you will get selected for flights

As far as I’m aware that isn’t true. The only other person I’ve heard say you can pre-load the “technical preview” is a twitter user who linked a dlc for a guitar game as a joke. Unless I’m wrong and you can provide proof, please don’t post information without verifying it first. The flight will be for insiders only, so there is no reason it would be available for pre-load.
They may save the beta for Gamescom, since the beta its dropping this summer the gamescom is celebrated late this same summer as well (late august). I hope my speculation is wrong because I have been sceptical about infinite.
They started “alpha” invites the other day, so my guess would be July for the next flight. Whether or not that is the beta, idk. Gamescom might be a good time for it like others have said.
We are all still waiting for the Beta, I’m as excited about it as well, I figure it would be a few weeks after E3 before they announced it
