Halo Infinite Beta Feedback

  1. Core Restrictions

I don’t like how cores restrict player choice, Infinite should have cross-core customization. If this Halo game is really driving home player expression, then why you would restrict people from say, using Mark VII helmets, shoulders, etc. with the Mark V[B] core or vice versa? I honestly think the core restrictions should be removed altogether, but I like the idea of having multiple sets of armor to select from. Maybe have multiple spaces in the armor hall where you can start off from a core preset and go wild on the customization. That way you can pick from different player-made sets of armor. Or go for the simpler fix of just making it so we can mix and match all armor no matter the core. The same goes for coatings and visors, they should be universal.

  1. Arms, Chests, Legs

I dislike the fact that when I pick a core, it locks me to that core’s chest, arm, and leg armor. I’m not a fan that we can’t customize this stuff separately. I know you can add attachments to the arms, chest, thigh, have different wrists, and knees, but in halo 4 and in MCC’s Halo 3, players can completely change their arms and legs. It’s weird to me that we’re regressing in customization options. I’m fine with adding attachments to the three areas, but to truly express myself I want to swap out the entire arm, chest, and leg armor and THEN put attachments on that, not just be stuck to the armor that is connected to the core. I.E. switching the Mark V[B] arms for the Mark VII’s and then adding arm attachments and gloves.

  1. Battle Pass Progression and XP

The BP takes WAY too long to actually progress in. We DEFINITELY need to be gaining XP for playing the game. This would fix the BP issue by allowing more XP to be gained overall. Challenges should be boosts of XP given to the player once completed, not the only means of gaining XP. It’s such a terrible feeling to be playing a game or doing good and knowing that none of that will add up to anything. The XP problem is especially worse than you’re done with the weekly challenges and have to rely on playing up to 5 games to get a measly 150 XP. You should reward the players for playing the game, and challenges giving you a bit extra. MCC’s system of gaining XP is a good example (you get points for performing well, being a team player, etc). Plus, once you complete all the challenges, a player’s motivation for playing the game drops, having XP for games, would keep players more motivated. I’m not saying I or the community want a progression simulator, the game is fun by itself, and at the end of the day, I will play this game cause it’s fun and not just for getting stuff. However, having good, fun gameplay AND the feeling of progression is what you want, the best of both worlds. Not a tedious and slow grind.

  1. Ridiculous Store Pricing

Ok, I just wanna say, while $10 for a BP is a pretty good deal, I REALLY don’t like how I see a $20 armor set in the store. TWENTY DOLLARS for Zvezda and some other stuff, that’s double the price of the whole battle pass, that is utterly ridiculous! That’s too much to pay for what we’re getting, this needs to be lowered down in price. Also if you make it cheaper, more people will buy it, if it’s too expensive only a certain minority will pay for that stuff. Heck, I even have friends who have seen that and just decided to abstain from even buying ANYTHING out of principle, you don’t want that to happen if you want people to buy stuff. I’m also worried that all the Reach armor that isn’t in the BP will be thrown into the store as separate armor sets, each for an overpriced $20. I understand this is a FTP game and buying cosmetics will trump the ability to unlock things, but the store (other than the BP) is WAY too expensive.

  1. Flag and Oddball One Hit Melees

The title says it all, but if you guys are giving players with the objective items increased melee speed, that implies to me that you want them to melee enemies to death, but at that point just add back One Hit Melees. The whole point of it was so 1. The flag or oddball carriers can fight back without having to drop the held objective and 2. To punish players to get too recklessly close to the carrier. All you have is melee when you have the objective, other players can still pick you off from a distance, so you should at least allow them to have the close range advantage. Two-hitting takes too much precious time, allowing the other team to just shoot and kill you before even getting rid of the immediate threat. Ultimately it makes the carrier feel more useless and bored not being able to one punch people, and at the end of the day, I feel it will make people not want to carry the objective and cooperate as a team.

Anyways, thank you 343 for allowing us fans to offer feedback so that we can at the end of the day have a better experience. Not too many companies listen to their fans like you guys are doing for Infinite, and I love that about you guys.

I think flag and Oddball one hit melees would be too strong.

Two hit kill is fine and it seems balanced.

I 100% agree with everything here. The biggest complaints I have are how I am not rewarded for playing well in a match, the current state of the armor hall with customization and how the battle pass progression works. You basically nailed it with every point here. Also, is anyone else having issues with the Armor Hall keeping your armor colors and which core you have equipped? Sometimes just accessing the Armor Hall changes which armor core I HAD equipped and the color that was equipped.
