Halo Infinite Battle Pass...

Halo Infinites Battle Pass is completable only through challenges, completing games normally does not give any progress. We have currently seen no ordinary progression XP progression or levels either.

343 Industries have said they’re open to feedback.

What are your thoughts?

If that’s the case forget your team cause they will be to worried about getting challenges done… 5 rocket kills in a single match… 10 no scope kills… ahh I don’t like this at all hope they fix it

I will preface this with saying that I would prefer a traditional system but after watching Ascend Hyperion’s video on the issue I’m actually not too against it anymore. The challenges are likely to cover the same amount of XP you would have been able to earn in a traditional system because in the end, it’s up to the devs on how fast they want you to level up with or without a traditional system. You had to be a dedicated player to reach Inheritor or SR152. I think people are assuming the challenges are just all going to force you to play differently when in reality they also very well might not be. They could seriously just be complete matches and get x amount of kills because MCC has challenges like that. Even if there are offshoot challenges, there’s game modes for a reason. MCC has challenges like “Get 500 headshots” so what do you do? Play SWAT. Is there a challenge to get kills with a sniper? Team Snipers. Most recently there’s a challenge to get “kills with an energy sword” so you play Infection. I mean, you can even do that in a custom game. If anything the challenges would likely encourage you to play different game modes which I’d bet is what they want with weird offshoot challenges. Devs usually don’t like having dead game modes and try to find ways to keep them alive. Notice how games nowadays let you search for multiple game modes instead of 1 like in the past. You might also think “When I run out of challenges then I won’t get any more XP for the day” but even Reach has a daily 20k cR cap. Halo 3 didn’t even give you XP at all if you lost a match and you even lost XP if you got disconnected.

Ultimately I don’t think the system is as terrible as it sounds. Could it go wrong and be the worst change in existence? Absolutely, but I feel the community should stop brushing new things away simply because it’s different, but definitely voice concerns about it instead of out right dismissing it. The real concern is how they might try to incentivize purchases for possible XP boosts and such and if the system sucks then it sucks and hopefully they’ll change it accordingly
