With E3 2020 coming out this year, can we expect to see a lot of gameplay from the upcoming Halo Infinite especially the Campaign mode and Multiplayer? And, could this be the place where 343 Industries can finally announce that Halo Infinite will be coming to Steam? What are your thoughts?
Short answer: potentially yes.
long answer: Expectations and halo are usually things you should not have as each halo game makes major changes from the previous. I find it funny that campaign is now referred to as a ‘game mode’ when it was multiplayer that was originally a side project. Infinite on steam? Cool, but likely we will hear windows 10 before steam (I’m not saying steam won’t happen.) My thoughts?
I don’t -Yoinking!- know at this point. All my predictions have been wrong for 2019 halo. With HI being set for release on 2020 we could be delayed to Jan 2021 or later. My hopes are that we get a game of the quality of h5 one year after updates with its own art style, a new story, and that both Xbox/pc launch with minimal bugs/server issues. We will find out when the game comes of course.
As far as gameplay, 343 has kept their cards close to the chest, even in E3 2020 I’m not sure that we will see much gameplay due to Halo:Infinite’s track record. However when it comes to being added to steam, I think that as long as MCC does well, HI will probably be added after windows launch. Here’s to a great game!
All i want is bonnie ross at the stage.she has been absent in e3’s since 2018 (maybe in 2016,2017, not sure, havent watched it😅). So i want halo infinite to be presented by her. I mean she is the boss if 343i. I hated the way she descriped halo 5 guardians in 2015 ("epic battles! Epic story! Epic scale!) oh man this was too hilarious watching out there. But still i expect her to announce halo infinite this e3
Gameplay? For sure. Lots of gameplay? Maybe. Definitely details on multiplayer and all that.

I think we’ll see more campaign footage, maybe multiplayer
It’s the E3 before release so there should be. If we look at Halo 5’s marketing, if you exclude the beta, we’d seen NOTHING from the campaign, 2013 had the poncho Chief teaser, 2014 was all about the MCC, which released shortly after, and 2015 was our first look at campaign gameplay, + warzone and lots of news on multiplayer. Of course we had the beta, but in terms of the campaign, we’ve already seen more at this point that we had with Halo 5.
March of 2015 saw the start of Hunt the Truth, and a constant drip feed of info leading up to E3. It’s March next week, and 343 have said they’ll start building up hype and well start getting reveals throughout 2020. We’ve had the toys this month, and I reckon the start of an ARG in March, or some sort of reveal. I think it’s guaranteed we’ll get gameplay at E3, if not even before then.
I’d also like to add, after a bit of research, that Halo 4’s first ever gameplay reveal was the March before release. I’m telling you, we’re gonna get something in the next 4 weeks.

At this point, I’m not expecting to see anything campaign related until E3. 343i stated in June 2019 (I think) that E3 2020 is going to be “big” for Halo so I assume that translates to a campaign reveal. If it’s not E3, the only other venue that’s really impactful enough for a campaign reveal is Gamescom in August.
I’ll be shocked if we don’t see something multiplayer related before June. If 343i wants to incorporate substantive feedback from the general population (Infinite is currently being tested by select community members who have likely signed NDAs), then the flighting program NEEDS to start fairly soon so that they have enough time before release to actually implement that player feedback.
I think Microsoft is going to go all in on Halo Infinite this E3. I think we’ll get 3 things.
- Campaign gameplay from the opening 5-10 minutes.
- 1 HI multiplayer map, playable on the show floor in either Team Slayer or a new game mode.
- HI beta date announcement. Possibly as a “and you can play it now” announcement even.
I want whoever is the creative director to present the game its the fairest way to present it both for the studio and the fans a face is important. Eg kojima mgs, Hugo Martin doom, Rod for gears 4/5. I expect campaign trailer with snippets of game play. A breakdown of the goals a mp trailer a playable demo at E3 and a beta announcement. The reveal of a new mode. And a the sprint doc announced. Forge at RTX. They need to come out swinging and I think it’ll be xbox series x, series s campaign trailer, Phil talks consoles, 343 rep comes on explains trailer and reveals mp. To open the show.

I agree with the 1 and 2, but I’d be extremely surprised if we had to wait until E3 for the beta dates.
That’s so close to release that it would be more of a network stress test than a true beta designed to elicit substantive feedback from the community.
But I could be wrong lol

Aside from toy concepts and a bullet point list provided in one of the community updates we know very little about the game, considering its been in development for 5 years give or take. I doubt they will release any info between now and E3. I can see them maybe announcing that the beta will be available shortly before E3 like early June or late May, but at this point a beta test is too close to release for any substantial changes. Maybe I am too cynical about the whole thing, and they really plan to respond to feedback in quick turn around, but Halo 5’s beta was almost a year before release.
I think the only reason we haven’t seen any gameplay is because it will be the flagship title for series x. Once we get an official Xbox series x reveal, I expect a multiplayer beta right after. The series x will also most likely be fully revealed before E3 so that they can focus on the games that will sell it. Halo will have campaign reveal at E3 most likely.
This is just what I think

Everyone seems very hung up on beta vs stress tests the times I’ve brought this theory of mine up.
-
A “you can play it now” announcement gives 343 three to five months between the beta and launch, which is PLENTY of time to use feedback to make balance changes.
-
Server stress tests are so much more important to a games launch now-a-days than the game balance at launch, that I imagine this is all we should really be expecting. 10 years ago, betas were more akin to games today who provide early access builds. In modern gaming, AAA betas (freon my recent memory) are almost entirely only server stress tests.
Just my 2 cents.

I think its safe to say that we’ll see a Campaign trailer with an announcement regarding the Beta. A Beta hasn’t been announced yet but I’d be stunned if there wasn’t something planned. We might get a glimpse at multiplayer and I think we’ll get a tease trailer for the Halo TV series as well.

What I think also. What about other things? Like a new thing? Halo 5 for MCC?
