Just wanted to know your guys’ thoughts on the subject. Would you guy prefer the social playlists to be as casual as the MCC social playlists?
I much prefer the the way the social playlists are in MCC than they are in Halo 5. I feel like whenever I want to play casually I’m just being put up against people my skill level at all times and don’t have and sort of breathing room to just enjoy the game competitive free.
Halo 5 is inherently a little bit sweaty just in the savage way it plays. Movement, bullet magnetism, instagib spartan abilities (charge and pound) and faster TTK all contributed to this. It’s also got a higher skill floor because it’s more fiddly to pull off effective thrust/slides and map movement and the maps are very cheese-holey meaning the fighting is less focussed/less in the expected engagement areas.
If Infinite reverses a few of those points and the skill floor is lower again like H3, it could recapture the magic. I think it’s pretty important actually.

I don’t know how the social playlists differ in the MCC, why do you prefer them ?
The point of social is that you don’t need to worry about whether you win or lose, not that you don’t need to worry because you can’t lose. If you have a problem with that, I’d say you have the wrong attitude. You can absolutely play the game without caring about competition against players at your skill level. It’s your choice how you play.
As I see it, social should have equally restrictive skill matchmaking as ranked. For completely unregulated fun, there should be a custom game browser that’s easily accessible and prominently displayed alongside matchmaking options. There you can find less skilled players to dominate to your heart’s content.
