Halo Infinite armors lack texture

This will probably come out during release but I believe the armors are lacking texture

I’m not seeing much in the form of different textures to the armor aside. I think really leaning into this minutia can really make the armors pop without having to mess with colors

If my spartan is walking through mud my Spartans shoes would get a little muddy right?

If I survived multiple MP firefights in one life People should see how scratched up my armor is or how cracked my visor is

We don’t have to get to Division levels of texture but a little visible wear and tear on the armors could probably go a long way in making the new engine capabilities pop

I’m gonna need you to go back and watch the trailers again and look at the screenshots. Cause most definitely, there are textures on them. In the screenshot of a bunch of the MP Spartans, literally half of them have mud and dirty up to their knees splashed on them. There are scraps and dings on some of the others.

Then go compare last years E3 trailer to this one. Chief literally looked like you pulled him out of a toy box last year and this year he looks like he hasn’t changed his suit in 10 years.

So I honestly don’t know if you’re trolling or just blind.

You think these armors lack texture? (4k link)

The armor looked like it had texture to me.

There’s definitely texture to the armors. Mud, scratches, even some surface rust on some of them. I do also believe that certain coatings will make your armor look pristine while others will have a more worn look to them.

Man, that tale is just factually incorrect.

OP was joking?

I think textures is the wrong word here. You want the Armor to interact more with the environment and encounters.

It sounds like you want dynamic armor weathering. But why? You’d never see it yourself and you’d also want it to NOT have mud on it in customization menus. Just think of the shields as some sort of a ceramic coating that prevents mud from sticking.

it’s because of heavy usage of normal maps which it is logical, if you look closely to the visor you can clearly see the line of normal maps and there is no depth which they could use parralax occlusion mapping but they didn’t and it’s okay, keep this in mind this game will also launch on xbox one.

Interactive armor is interesting, even if it sounds like a nightmare to develop. Hypothetically, and grenade hitting your armor would greatly damage it while bullets would leave scratches and scrapes over time.

So far as I can tell the Armours look good detail wise but still suffer a bit from looking like Power Rangers rather than Tanks on legs. Not saying they all need to be bulky etc just that the way some sit on the Tech suit doesn’t look how you’d expect a super soldier to look.

Dynamic changes to something on your person in a FPS seems like a really big waste of resources, not to mention that your character is dead and resurrected multiple times during a match…so does the armor just keep deteriorating again and again?

After the first week everyone’s spartan will look like they went through a garbage disposal

Not sure what trailer you were watching, go back and watch it in 1440p or 4k.

Try zooming in, there’s alot of detail in these armors if you look closely. Also the Noble Defender skin is a good one to look at. Keep in mind different coatings will have different textures and looks. If an armor looks smooth, it’s supposed to!
