Halo Infinite - Antagonists

Who do you expect to be the main protagonists in terms of game combat? If it’s the created, a collective of A.I. Following Cortana and seeking salvation from rampancy, what form do they take, if any?
Or will it be the Banished? Will they be working against the created as well? Or will we have the flood arise as the larger threat forcing alliances?
Lastly, it’s too far along to continue fighting Covenant enclaves right?

Expected:
Cortana + Created in special Forerunner suits
Random holdouts from Jul’s Covenant
Maybe:
More Spartans/Human enemies coming to bring Chief to justice
Invading Jiralhanae on Sanghelios
New form of The Flood
The Banished
Splintered Covenant factions with random Warlords
Probably Not Gonna Happen:
New human rebel groups
Definitely Not Gonna Happen:
Ditch the dumb Halo 5 plot and go with something good
Sergeant Johnson back from the dead to whoop your sorry -Yoink- for leaving him on The Ark

Id love to have a few antagonists yet those that matter directly to the narratives development get the attention.
Banished, Didact and Prometheans, Forerunners, Flood, and Covenant splinters. Maybe human deserters like from the Insurrection.

What I would like:
Flood + Prometheans (without the “floaty bits”)
Maybe random Covenant splinter factions that include Brutes or the Banished themselves

What I expect:
Prometheans and some Covenant splinter faction groups

What I don’t expect:
Human Rebels such as the New Colonial Alliance including Ilsa Zane leading them? It would be interesting to see this though.

Wow… I just had this image in my head, imagine an organic classic flood form (let’s human) who uses promethean tech as armor. Armored flood would be scary.

Flood are boring enemies that only got famous because they came around at a time where gamers were not used to having to fight large groups of enemies at once. Backstory wise they’re just more of the same hive mind nonsense. They’re a boring enemy. The only way I would ever accept having the Flood back is by having them go the ‘ultimate predator’ route. Give us enemies that challenge us individually and are actually a threat instead of swarm tactics.

And no, I don’t mean by having miniboss Warden style fights because those were so terrible. The part in Halo 5 where the Hunters track you through the ONI ship? Something like that, only they don’t turn into push overs the moment you get out of the tunnels.

What we’ll most likely have is what every has predicted, though I’m still convinced that we’ll have two Cortanas. Evil Cortana, which leads the Created and Prometheans and al the Covenant that submitted to her as a living god, vs Chief, UNSC/Elite remnants and good Cortana, and in a race against time to keep her from using the Halo she has and merge the two different Cortanas together and terminate her once and for all (and possibly with Chief going as well).

I love the flood, but not as a primary enemy. They need to be there when you:

a) lest expect them
b) aren’t prepared
c) are already engaged in other enemies

they bridge the gap between being in control and out of control. Tilt the scales if you will.

imagine if the created took control of Prometheans and then using hard light assembly re-formed their Promethean bodies around organic flood hosts - increased flood threat, tactics and communications. I’m not sure what the purpose would be but flood/created hybrids would be a serious threat

What I Expect:
•The Created, with Promethians and organics who have joined them, and maybe using Sentinels as well.
•Some form of Covenant remnant faction, the covenant won’t just disappear.
•The Flood, especially since Zeta Halo is a significant part of Flood lore.
•Wildlife, probably as a neutral faction that fights back against everybody.

What I Don’t Expect:
• The Banished.
• Human insurrectionists.
• Any new alien or Human factions.

Keep in mind, just because they’re not expected, doesn’t mean they’re unwelcome.
