Halo infinite and xone ??

So should i sell my xbox and start saving to buy a new console now since it looks like halo infinite is not for xbox one or is scarlet just a newer version or what and will halo infinite come for both consoles ?

Halo Infinite will be available across the Xbox One family of consoles. If you have an X1, you’ll still be able to play

Halo Infinite has been confirmed for Xbox One, PC, and Scarlett. That sounds like a bot reply lol but it answers your question.

Oh thank god thank you guys

to be honest, it is really based on preference.

Yeah IK but i was just asking if it will be released for the standard console or not.

As stated before, it will be released on all consoles in the Xbone family, but you can assume that the graphic quality will be lessened on older consoles, the same way that a game like Ark functions (On a OG Xbone, you might be grabbing 30fps at very low graphic settings, but on an XboneX, you’ll be getting close to 60fps in some cases and very high graphics settings, although still not anything close to what PC’s are capable of.)

If I were you, I would begin saving for the new console as that will most likely be the best way to experience the game, but keep your current console to avoid going AWOL for close to 2 years. Assume the console will cost close to $500, and aim to save up a majority of that before the game launches!

Yeah that a great idea too i might actually start saving for it from now. But considering that i don’t live in america the price would most likely be higher because of the shipping costs and customs, still i’d save up for 700$ to make sure it’d be enough.

Don’t worry, its coming on xbox one too.

I have the original xbox one the fat black loud heavy one, but I may get the new one. Might still keep my xbox one until I find some young kid that wants it and give it to him but I’m not going to get rid of it until the new one is out

I have the Halo 5 xbone. I know I’ll be getting the new Halo for PC. But god it makes me want to grab a scarlet to play it for that true Halo experience.

I’ll probably trade in my Xbox One X for a Halo Infinite Scarlet when the time comes.

You might be right! We’ll have to see what it costs at launch. I don’t live in America either, I was just throwing a ballpark number out there! Canadian right here XD

We’ll have to stay cheerful though and hope it doesn’t come to selling any of our stuff :heart::heart:

Infinite will launch for Scarlett, XB1, and PC so you don’t have to if you don’t want to. On top of this Scarlett will be backwards compatible with games and accessories.

Do you have a link for that ? I have been trying to find out and cannot find a definite answer.

By all means start saving (at least $500/£500?) for Scarlett, but there’s no need to rush to upgrade.

As many have said, Frank O’Connor on Reddit confirmed Halo Infinite is being made for “Current Gen Consoles and Windows 10 PC”, as is seen on the adverts too.

The Slipspace Engine is highly scalable, from OG XB1 to Scarlett, and from budget gaming PC to high-end gaming PC power with the latest tech.
So, Halo Infinite will play on:

  • Original XBox One
  • One S
  • One X
  • XBox “Scarlett” (which will probably have even higher resolution textures and Ray Tracing* for lighting/shadows and reflections).
  • Windows 10 PC (including Ray Tracing* for those with newer and powerful enough graphics cards).

Meanwhile, thanks to running on Windows 10 and the chips being made by AMD (who made the chips for OG XBox One, One S and X), full forwards compatibility will mean every game that plays on any XB1 today will play on a Scarlett machine (your whole Halo collection!), and all accessories too, such as controllers, chatpads, remotes for DVD/Blue Ray Disc etc.

So, this time, it really is a case of “upgrade when you’re ready and can afford it”, and to get more graphics power for even better picture quality, better effects and more framerate options, a lot like the One X already is.

  • “What’s Ray Tracing?” It models light, shadows and reflections the same as real light, as seen in H2A Blur Cutscenes, to give even more realistic lighting effects, including area lighting, weapons fire and explosions. To see what effect it has in gameplay, see this Demo of the very old Quake 2 with Ray Tracing added. Yep, this is what “Next-Gen Graphics” on XBox Scarlett could add even to old games!

Here is a demo of a new scene done with full Ray Tracing effects - note, this isn’t a pre-rendered cutscene, but live gameplay for Next-Gen Graphics. But just imagine what Master Chief might be like, when during some target practice, he catches sight of his new armour in Halo Infinite - and sure, his targetting looks pretty cool, until Linda-051 turns up that is…

Wasn’t it in that Scarlett video during the conference? I can’t remember. But if not, Phil says it in one of the inside xbox interviews.

No, I don’t recall it being mentioned. Halo Infinite may be just a cross gen release, I hope Scarlett is backward compatible with games and accessories, I want the new Elite controller but I’m not investing in one for it to be useless at the end of 2020. That’s why I asked for a link, I cannot get a definite answer. I thought you knew for sure.
