Halo Infinite and Offline Bots

Ahh kinda like what Call of Duty did on Black Ops I think? Would be a good idea.

It’d be a nice addition for warming up or for example I’m about to have a newborn at home, it’d be nice to get in some matches but be able to pause if/when the family needs me and not ruin everyone else’s time by having to stop or quit.

Hopefully the new engine can make significant improvements in AI. It should be powerful enough to support bots and forgeable AI. I understand it may be hard to code a bot to play obj, but some simple slayer bots should be great for warming up and evening up teams for custom games.

I would definitely welcome offline bots. It would provide more variety for those who don’t have gold.

I would like this but it could be like Star Wars Battlefront 2’s CO-OP mode.

Sure, I think having the option for offline bots would be a decent addition. It would give some people with limited time, or poor internet, the option to play “multiplayer”.

That said, the online discourse would simply devolve into people bloviating about how “dumb” or “unfair” the AI is but I guess that’s why no good deed goes unpunished.

Yeah

I think offline bots would be an amazing addition to the game. My only wish for it is for it to have scaling difficulty to playing against a 4 year old and then playing against a pro.

Great idea! I am not sure how easy it would be to implement, but I have always been a fan of bots ever since my friends and I used to challenge the “Perfect” difficulty bots from Perfect Dark.

Well, if it’s played offline, the system would have more resources to devote to controlling bots. Yes it’s hard to code for that but come on. The series x is ridiculously powerful and can probably handle something like that

There are nice opportunities to include a lore spin on bots. They could be projections in a training course. So they’re not as smart as real individuals, nor do they move like them… After all, they’re bots.

I’ve always wanted bots in Halo. With Warzone, I was pretty disappointed when I misunderstood what 343 Industries were talking about when they said there’d be A.I.-controlled enemies in it.

Can you imagine if Halo 3 on the Xbox 360 had an alternative to waiting half an hour for a single game? When these games become old, having the bot option is great.

I’m so glad this is positively received it seems. Here is to hoping that halo infinite has some sort of feature like this…
not sure how related this is but forgeable ai would be nice too lol.

Hey just a quick tip. When you want to respond directly to people you press the quote button. And Waypoint has a few rules (not that I care) about making productive posts due to spamming concerns.

On a more on-topic note I completely think that Halo Infinite should include CoD-style bots for at least offline play. And obviously we all want them in forge too. I always hated watching people like GameCheat play with bots with mods because I really wished I could’ve. Personally I also like how Warzone introduced bots. I think Infinite should do the same thing in some regard.

I’ve always wanted this for a Halo game.

My first FPS was Metroid Prime Hunters, which let one play the MP modes with bots. Online was filled with hackers, so it made the game a lot more enjoyable for me. I was mildly shocked when I started getting into other FPS games, including Halo, and realized this was not a ubiquitous feature in shooters. But somehow a DS FPS had it. Go figure.

I’d say there’s more chance of you becoming pope than to see bots in a Halo game. And offline? lol MS wouldn’t allow that. We’re lucky still to have campaign playable offline

It would be fantastic of course but people have asked for bots since HaloCE and there never is any. I wouldn’t mind but they never come out and say that they’re not going to do it. We just get silence. If bots were to be implemented then again I’d be willing to bet they wouldn’t allow for offline play. It would make sense that 343 bend over backwards for it’s fanbase and allow for both bots and offline play but I really think MS wouldn’t allow for it. Definitely a shame

I wonder how that will work on a forged map. Maybe we can place our own nav meshes and script the AI. Sounds like a lot of work on the Forge Team, but I would pay good money for that.

Bots in multiplayer and perhaps being able to place AI enemies in Forge would be cool and feels overdue for the franchise at this point
However, bots being able to behave like human players in objective game modes, and being able to play something that feels like a typical multiplayer match with them offline, probably isn’t realistic

Please make it happen !! Star wars BF2 Instant Action (32 bots vs 32 bots) was a solid move of EA. I hope Halo will have Bot match, 8 bots vs 8 bots will do just find.

I bring a message from the future: Bots have been confirmed for Halo Infinite!
