Halo Infinite: Age Rating?

Hello, I was wondering out of curiosity about the age rating (Esrb/Pegi) for Halo Infinite. Will it be rated M (pegi 18+) or will it be rated T (pegi 12-16+)?

Probably 16+.

Most likely it will be a T rating, the only way that it is an M is if the flood is in it, and its unlikely the flood will be in this game.

Thank you, that helps a lot have a good day.

I am not sure I agree with them on that point. Canonicly, Zeta Halo was a major Flood site. Additionally, many people have been asking for a return of the Flood.

One thing we may see is separate ratings for multiplayer and single player if that is possible. 343I will likely want to cash in on the young teens who like to spend hundreds of dollars on cosmetics in F2P games and I agree that they will probably try for a T rating.

They may push a T-rating for the base game and end up adding the Flood in an expansion post-launch, which honestly would be the better way to go anyway. That way Halo Infinite remains T-rated, but the expansion added would be “M-rated”

I honestly hate the fact that we are most likely getting another T rated Halo game, like what even is the reason? We all know it doesn’t help them sell more when all the most popular games except maybe Fortnite are rated M. Any game that involves killing people should have blood and gore unless it has cartoony graphics. It doesn’t have to be like Doom or Gears of War but it should be like classic Halo. I want blood splatters on the walls, ground, and vehicles.

Thanks for putting all your opinions, From the multiplayer trailer and gameplay demo (though graphics have changed since then so it could cancel out) I see a T rated game. But who knows the flood expansion Idea could definitely play out. If you watch the sound recording videos they definitely make flood noises with a piano so I can definitely see the flood in the game or some future update. Personally, I think the M rating would make the game more popular among younger people. To me it seems most younger audiences gravitate towards an M rating. But having a T rating would be a more neutral ground. I could be totally wrong but that just seems to happen often. The more violence you put in a game usually the more younger kids want to play it.

From what I can see Halo has never really been a hard M game. It’s not extremely gory and the blood is pretty minimal (for the most part, unless you’re going on a friendly fire spree in the campaign or the flood centric levels). If most of the Halo games were a movie or a series of movies they’d be rated PG-13. For the most part Halo is designed for teenagers and everyone after teen years. So I think a T rating would fit the game the most.

You genius. That’s probably exactly what they’ll do. We know campaign will be sold separately, so maybe there’s hope we’ll see the Flood without them being censored for no dismemberment. Considering we haven’t seen the campaign rating there is hope!

I highly doubt that the flood will be making a full return, I feel that the flood were giving a proper ending with Halo 3. I feel that Infinite at launch is aiming for a UNSC/Chief VS the Banished. Without looking this up, I believe you are right about Zeta Halo being a research site for the flood, however at launch I expect nothing more than a few easter eggs/references to the flood at the most. I wouldn’t be surprised though at all if they go the route of Halo Wars 2 and and the flood later down the line as an expansion/DLC. (remember this game is the building block for the next 10 or so years).

That being said I’m not aware if its possible to rate the multiplayer and single player separate because they aren’t releasing as two separate things (this comes from 343 saying they are not shipping separately). But even if they are separate I’m not an expert on how the rating system would work for two separate parts.

My guess would be that they will shoot for a T rating given that it is free to play and they are looking for the largest audience. That said, I hope they go the M route because I thought the themes were much more enjoyable.

T rating unfortunately. Halo should be like CE and Reach not kiddy like basically all the others. But…we all know it boils down to profit so they drop it down from M to cater to wider audience.

For the people crying about a T rating not having a huge amount of blood etc etc, Please go look up darksouls 2 esrb rating and come back, That game is rated T and has a butt ton of blood and even nudity. ESRB has come along way since h1 was released lmao, -Yoink- even h4 was rated M and didn’t have dismemberment/the flood.

Halo 4 was rated M because of a cutscene in campaign.

Yeah that’s right it was rated M over a cutscene

I could’ve sworn Unyshek said a while back that they were wanting it to be rated T. I don’t want to go through his Tweets to find out now, so this is just going to have to be a, “bro, trust me” moment.

Most likely teen rated. So Microsoft can get as much money as possible. It’s in the middle.

Teen Rated

It’s hard to believe odst was rated M for mature

Well you can have the Flood in stasis chambers without them being active and free at a dark lightless night.

Now I want Flood on the surface at night without any light source.

Worth noting that every FPS Halo has had a rating of PEGI 16 in Europe. Even though in America, ESRB rating for Halo 5 was T, in Europe it was still PEGI 16. So not all ratings are created equal, and ratings are largely arbitrary. It doesn’t really matter what Infinite’s rating will be. For now, Infinite does not have an official ESRB or PEGI rating, despite what some outlets are reporting.
