Halo Infinite actually looks really good now

Well, I saw “halo infinite is made by pc players, for pc players”
Dunno how to feel about that.
And it doesn’t make me feel like running out and buying the new consoles
I got a bad feeling

MCC is basically a PC game now with a console port.

My issue is that HALO INFINITE is Microsoft’s/Xbox’s Flagship game.

It should look like [and be] a Next-gen title.

Throw all of the “bells and whistles” at the Xbox Series X and PC versions - Ray Tracing, RDNA2 support, etc. This game needs to be a graphical powerhouse to really show what this new console can accomplish.

Otherwise, why would anyone want to buy it?

What if you interpret it more like “Halo Infinite on PC is made by PC players, for PC players”?

Maaaaaaan. Just imagine that job!
Getting paid to gush about a game? -Yoinking!–A I’d be in!
Is this real? I’ll take the spot. What a cakewalk.
Even better because I already like the game and how it looks.

Hey, 343i, if this is real in this reality we inhabit, please DM me, I’ll say anything short of offers to sell my mother or my body if it compliments the game. Yewwww!

Then they would have said it like that. :grinning:
Around release date I’ll have to make a decision.
Finally get a gaming pc, or play infinite on og Xbox one.

… that was taken from the pc led team, who has been building the game up alongside the console teams, there are 2 of which one working on the series consoles and one making a version of the game optimized to potatoe its way around the Xbox One line of consoles. So yeah the pc team has worked hard to make Infinite a full fledged pc release alongside their respective console counterparts who have also been developing around their platforms… people will look for any shred of pessimism to cling to its sad…

Who hurt you?

Read one up

It looks really good all tho when you zoom in and u see graphics far away, they still gotta improve but graphics are really nice when ur close to the areas and not see them very far

I never lost hope in 343😎

Except it looked good already. I don’t get all the hate and comments about “plastic” graphics. I would’ve been fine with the visuals shown off in the 8 min demo. It wowed me enough, watched the demo 5 or 6 times.

I’m more interested in the gameplay, whether it will be fun to play. They say it’s the most expansive / immersive halo yet, that sounds interesting. The fact that it’s nice to look at is a bonus, as with all “fun” to play games.

Played many games that looked nice but were boring af. assassin’s creed series, far cry games after instincts, watch dogs series. nothing worse than a pretty open world or semi open world game that’s got dull repetitive gameplay.

Agree. It already looked great.

My only concerns were the textures / lighting and the pop-in. Engine type issues. Which have hopefully been fixed.

It looks good enough to me. I was always more about art direction than graphics personally, and no, I don’t care that it’s supposed to be a “next-gen” title.

How about, instead of expecting next-gen graphics, we start asking for next-gen gameplay and features? Has no one on earth thought about this yet? There’s more to a bloody game than sheer photorealism. On that front, 343i appears to be delivering some great stuff.

The art direction speaks for itself. This might be the most stylistically appealing Halo game yet, imo. Not to mention it boasts some bleeding edge technology in hardware features, crossplay, sound design, engine, etc.

Be glad they even managed to get the game delayed. Convincing management that there needs to be a delay is very difficult and risky, especially for a major title like this. The developers most likely knew that a delay was going to be necessary anyway, it’s the suits that they had to convince, and the suits don’t play games.

Also, they aren’t obligated to show us everything about the game before release. That’s another thing I despise, modern marketing. Everyone wants to see everything there is to see before the game is even out, and companies capitalize on that to generate hype by showing things that aren’t even going to be in the game, wasting development time and effort making flashy, unrealistic gameplay demo’s. Whatever happened to a couple trailers and a short playable demo anyway? You don’t need any more than that.

I’d like to see it in motion with these graphics, but it does look pretty nice.

Now if only there was an area that didn’t look like the 2nd level of CE.

Some would say realistic.

I don’t need Halo to be a bleeding edge game, it was the artistic direction that set it apart from other games and from what I have seen so far they have made marked improvements in that regard, but I guess we will see how it all pans out when we actually play it.

Past linear titles let us zoom around different parts of the Halo ring to bring us various different biomes and it will be disappointed if we have to what for some potentially far off DLC for a desert biome or something along those lines.

> On the biome bit, I feel it’s important to remember that the game is still a bit away from release and most of, say, Halo 3s marketing material prerelease (including the boxart) was just of the Africa/Tsavo/Voi bits, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a similar case here

Except 343i already confirmed a while back that this is it in terms of biomes, outside of Forerunner and Banished structures that is. There might be some snowy regions at the top of a mountain and caves here and there, but even if those are still part of the same biome. Forget seeing icy regions, huge desserts or jungles, Halo Infinites’s first campaign plays out in the Pacific Northwe… I mean in Zeta Halo woods of course! And that’s it sadly.

Good

I’ll hold my judgement for when we actually see gameplay and when the game comes out. I cannot sit here and confidently say this game looks good when all they’ve shown us is screenshots. Anyone can make some screenshots of something pre-rendered and say we’ve improved. Its only when we see this game in action can we truly say its an improvement from what we saw.

what do you mean? they pretty much have parity. if anything, MCC is one of the best serviced console games to date with FOV and KB and mouse support. The idea that halo isn’t a “console game” anymore is meaningless. Some people think getting better settings for accessibility and customisation of the experience is a bad thing, but I say bring it on.

The screenshots look good but we wont really know till we see a demo in motion runnin on an xbox.
