Can 343 have two sets of achievements for Infinite? - one for single player and one multiplayer. Similar to Doom.
Usually Halo games have achievements for both Campaign/Multiplayer. Im not too familiar with how Doom separates them but how would it differ from previous Halo games?
I do wish they had Vidmaster achievements with exclusive armor unlocks.
They’ll definitely have achievements for both multiplayer and campaign but whether they’re separate depends on whether multiplayer/campaign are separate - 343i could sell the campaign and multiplayer as two seperate games on the store or they could package them together and just put a paywall behind the campaign/related features
I’m hoping there isn’t too many harder multiplayer achievements like “stick someone in a man cannon”. They just become a bit annoying to get over time.
Overall I’m hoping they have some fun single players for Easter eggs and encouraging exploration and getting unlocks.

I would love some hard achievements in terms of the campaign but I do agree that some multiplayer achievements are way too annoying to get - I despise the MCC achievements for Halo 2 anniversary like the one that requires you to get a ton of splatter kills or environmental kills as they’re just tedious and there’s no real fun to them.

10000% Agree. Luckily I managed to get all 700 in MCC but some of the stuff in OG Reach & 4 I still don’t have to this day due to them being so map specific. Just near impossible to actually get them.
I really feel you on those H2A achievements though, some of them were so irritating to get. Especially the splatters…there’s only like 1 or 2 maps with a vehicle on to splatter people. It’s rough.

Agreed with everything above. The multiplayer ones when they are ultra specific are more of a task than an achievement. I got them all, but again, it was a chore to do. Vidmasters on the other hand are great. They are true challenges that finishing them actually leave you with a sense of accomplishment. Im working on my last achievements in the MCC (and all Halo games for that matter) and all I have left are the LASO achievements. Those are super hard, but I know when i get through them i will feel like I accomplished something. A good example of a bad multiplayer achievement was in Halo Wars where you need to become a general in matchmaking. It didn’t take skill, just pure grinding which is better suited for an MMORPG and not so much a Halo game. There are creative ways to make multiplayer achievements for sure as long as they are not super specific.
I don’t mind multiplayer achievements as long as they are reasonable. The ones like “get a perfection on this dlc map”, or “get 100 environmentalist kills in this specific playlist” just turn into grindfests and end up getting boosted. I’m not even saying they have to be overly easy, but I think they should be achievable to the average player

Couldn’t have said it better myself!
Good luck wrapping up the last of MCC, it’s a challenge but very doable. The sense of accomplishment is fantastic.
Also, out of curiosity I’ve never seen the “community leader” subtitle on waypoint before. It might sound like a dumb question but what is that? How did you obtain it etc. That’s pretty cool.

Much appreciated
Me and a buddy of mine I met in Halo Reach in 2010 haven been knocking out these achievements. We both recently beat all the 3 hour speed run achievements (Halo 2 was a nightmare) and its been a blast. I started streaming the LASO achievements and man, im having the best time. Whats great about these achievements is how it makes these games soooo repayable. Prior to achievement hunting, I really had minimal experience with Halo 2. Now, I know some of these levels like the back of my hand. Thats how you make an achievement good, by allowing it to add value to the game.
Not a dumb question at all, its a rarer rank nowadays. As far as the “Community Leader” rank goes, back around 2011/2012 I was VERY active on these forums (10K+ posts) and eventually was asked if I wanted to be a monitor on these forums which I accepted. It was an awesome experience but I was in college at the time and eventually life got busy as I was gearing up for my first post-graduation job. Instead of reverting old Monitors ranks back to the usual progression, they set my rank to “Community Leader” as I don’t have any more moderation abilities but am still someone that was in that position. Halo 4’s release really drew me in initially as Infinite is now
If you have any other questions about it, i’d be happy to answer separately so I don’t derail this thread!
tl;dr - Achievements should make the game repayable and not a chore

The Halo 2 speedrun had me pulling my hair out. Was definitely one of the hardest I had to do out of the 700.
I’m kind of hoping for a LASO achievement in Infinite to be honest. It really rewards you for taking the time to learn the games and take on a whole other level of difficulty.
Achievement hunting has been a huge thing for me since I started playing. I recent wrapped up all of OG halo 3, just hoping to finish off Reach & 4.
Ahhh, okay. I’ve never actually seen that rank before but that’s actually pretty cool. Essentially a community figure that has contributed significantly over time. I like that. It’s really cool to see that being a active member within the community is recognised. Awesome to meet you.

Halo 2 was the only speedrun where I was really super conscious of my times and had to go back to get better times. Monopolized is hands down the hardest achievement i’ve done. I tried the vidmasters during them remembering them as a huge challenge but boy they don’t pale in comparison to Monopolized hahaha.
Achievement hunting is huge for me too, I started in 2010 and have every single Halo achievement (Was unable to get H2 Vista before servers were shut down and am not attempting the Chinese version of Halo MCC lol). All I have left is LASO which I’ve never done before. If you would have asked me a few months ago if I wanted LASO achievements in Infinite I would have said hell no, but after doing them myself, I agree with you. I was drawn to this thread because I’m very interested in what the achievements for Infinite will be. Best of luck wrapping up some of the originals, its a fun ride!
You probably haven’t seen the rank before because those who have it just aren’t active on these forums anymore which is part of how they got it in the first place lol but your explanation of the rank is pretty spot on. In my personal experience, the community management has always been very nice. It’s nice to meet you too
Let me know how your achievement hunting journey goes! Feel free to message me too if you need help and if I can, i’d be happy to do so. Im also streaming nowadays so feel free to stop by if you want to talk Halo/watch me fail LASO haha

I 100% agree with this but its been a while since unlocks have lead to new armor… at least in terms of how Halo 3 unlocked armor. The more i think of it, the MCC has a pretty decent system to challenges unlocking armor. It would be cool if infinite had permanent challenges that would lead to xp and armor unlocks.

This, so so much this. For me, the best Halo FPS achievement list from this perspective was probably ODST. It had a bit of everything from Vidmasters, to collecting the audio logs for Sadie’s story, to the Firefight ones which encouraged people to really take on that mode (and with a group could be huge fun). Halo 5 actually wasn’t too bad from the achievement list perspective either. Enjoyed Halo Wars 2’s list as well.
I feel like the interaction between Challenges and Achievements (which we’ve not especially had since Reach) will play a big part too. The Challenges system in MCC is clearly testbed and think it works well as Challenges provide regular players structure and goals without the seemingly incredibly far off grindy achievements which can appear to fill that role (looking at you Gears of War), whereas Achievements as you say can fit the game exploration and like role.

I think the weekly challenges and seasonal challenges have been a fantastic addition to MCC and really add to the game as a whole. Even having PVE and PVP challenges is great. I know not everyone plays for multiplayer so having these two types of playstyles separated is great. I would love a permanent challenge list that could tie to armor variants similar to how MCC implemented it for timed armors/nameplates/etc.

Entirely agree on all fronts. I do like that it’s weekly and monthly challenges. Felt like the older style daily ones just put a bit too much pressure on folk.
I actually like this idea. One of my favorite parts about the Halo CE re-master was that it had a lot of fun and unique achievements that you could complete
% without the multiplayer.
I have stated this for years. Not everyone plays both campaign and multiplayer. Two sets of achievements is a great idea, Crackdown 3 did it, I think most games with a single player campaign and multiplayer should.
