Halo Infinit possible Online game mode

Hello there, today, I want to discuss about a game that hasn’t been release yet. I am eager to know more about Halo infinit and also E3 will be a good thing to make a good showcase regarding this video game.

I need to follow the main topic of this post and I am about to give a good idea that would certainly be a great thing for all of us (Fans).

So, read it carefully before judging it and then give me your thoughts. Thank you in advance.

In Halo Infinit, I have no idea of what it will contain within the multiplayer section, but there is something to be sure, no one truly knows if there will be some sort of micro-transaction related with a possible Battle Royal game mod within Halo Infinit.

My idea is inspired by Invasion from Halo Reach, Warzone and Battle Royale. If you mix all of them into one, it can possibly make something incredible.

Imagine, 50 players as Spartans and 50 players has Elites and Brutes. You are within a large scaled open world with objectives to follow. There is 50 players in each team, and within a team, there is several teams that follows objectives guided by an IA. Lets call them (Mini-teams). 5 Mini-teams of 10 players has to follow a suggested objective ordered by an IA either if it is to defend or destroy something.

  • Everyone start with their personal arsenal.
  • You die once, you are dead forever.

If a spartan die (player), instead of just quitting and restarting a new game, you have the ability to control a small group of marines. You guide them like in Halo Wars in order to help your team winning the war. At this point, you have to be wise and play smart as the marines aren’t spartans and doesn’t have spartan ability. Each dead players have a group of 6 marines. You can summon a pelican or whatever vehicle it is for your group of marines. Basically, your FPS game turn into a real time strategic video game and you are assisting your own team. As for the other team, instead of marines, you have grunts and more.

Does a spartan can take vehicle summoned by a dead player? Yes, it can be allowed.

So far, I have no name for this sort of game mode, but what do you think about it? Would it be nice to get such a game mod within Halo Infinit?

Leave your thoughts in the comment section.

See, there was a tweet about halo infinite having “btb 2.0” and “enhanced vehicle combat” but it was put down for some reason.

Enhanced vehicle combat is probably referring to the new damage location mechanisms addressed in the last Ask343.

Big Team Battle was missing from H5 at launch so making it clear it will be in Infinite at launch is important.

To respond to a few of your points:

  • I don’t think Infinite would go single elimination in any big team battle mode by default. It wasn’t particularly well-received in the small-scale Breakout mode in Halo 5 and Big-team battle usually involves vehicles and more power weapons than smaller modes. If your team loses a battle for a vehicle/power weapon and you have single-elimination that’s a double disadvantage. - I think loadouts need to be a thing of the past, even starts are a hugely important thing in Halo. - A return of some kind of Invasion/Warzone with specific objectives could be really good. - I feel like Warzone’s req system dies with H5. The sandbox information we have is all about balance etc. The req system doesn’t lend itself to that so much.

I think I know why 343i went all out on REQ and micro-transaction. Halo 4 was the most expensive game ever with all the 3rd-party features, I believe 343i had to make some money along the way with Halo 5 in order to bring back their original big budget during Halo 4’s production. I strongly doubt we will see micro-transaction within Halo Infinit.

You are right, the small-scale Breakout mode in Halo 5 was an absolute disaster, but just imagine for the Halo Wars fans, that they can actually turn Halo Infinit into a real-time strategic video game and controlling marines in order to help your team. This goes with customization and more. What I dislike with the single elimination is the fact that once you die, you just don’t care about the whole game anymore while in this case here, you have the ability to continue playing in the same game without waiting.

There should be power weapons EARNED, like getting them from killing specific AIs
there could also be armories, where you get weapons based on req level [I am specifying this below]you get kills, or objective completes and it fills your req level, and based on that you can get weapons from the armory. I don’t know if that will be overpowered, but it does give people who have no reqs like beginners in halo 5 a chance at winning.

The technical requirements of what you’re suggesting are utterly huge and I think you’re overestimating how many players will stick around. I just can’t see it working and if it doesn’t, it’s a huge amount of dev work down the pan. The fact that we’re not soon to see a HW3 also tells you how small a pool compared to FPS players we’re talking.

Honestly I disagree re: Halo 4 hangover. Halo 4’s problem was it’s reliance on DLC (which given how poorly received its MP was and how repetitive Spartan Ops was, didn’t sell as well). Halo 4 could and should have been more like the live service game Infinite will be. Halo 5 followed the trend of the rest of the sector - replacing DLC with MTX to support ongoing development and releases.

We know that MTX isn’t going anywhere in Infinite or the sector as a whole, but will become customisation only rather than randomisation and will have no in-game applications like Warzone reqs did.

I don’t see the Req system continuing. Everything we hear from the sandbox team is about fights over power weapons/equipment. I don’t see it returning
