So 343 lifted the region restrictions as queue times were long in certain playlists in AU.
BTB, FFA and Fiesta - we can now find games in these playlists and muck around in 200ms ping and have a blast with our US counterparts. Nice.
TA, TS, even regular old Warzone - ruined in the process.
We need matchmaking preferences or AT LEAST make the region restrictions playlist specific, some playlists had healthy AU populations for sure. Matchmaking Preferences are the best options as those who don’t mind waiting for a quality match can set that option then search, and those who don’t care about quality and just want to find games fast can have that too.
There is literally no point playing ranked in 200ms ping. Personally, I don’t enjoy playing at all in the high latency environment of a US based server. I just hope it hasn’t driven any other Aussie fans away as the population was already quite small.
I don’t know what else to say other than… I’m actually just pretty devastated 
Same in Europe man, the game is broken. Many shots missed and thats not a good thing…
don’t worry I have made multiple posts and threads on my frustration with this. Matchmaking preferences have been confirmed for the memories of reach update so I have just stopped playing multiplayer till then. (I suspected they would add it in the update so I stopped playing earlier actually).

Ahh I have heard this too but have not been as active on the forums as I was a few months ago, thank you for informing me.
I think I’m going to take the same approach and wait for the update with fingers crossed, I just don’t enjoy it all with the high latency.

Im in Aus too OP, and I feel your pain. I’ve played nothing but Halo5 for 6months now, and it’s great in so many ways. But this latency is just unbearable, and if nothing is changed with MoR patch, I’m sure I won’t be the only one leaving the game and the dwindling Aussie community.
I love that they unlocked servers, find game in any mode and latency in general is playable still, odd kick or crap lag game but to play all modes and play when I want it is totally worth it!

This. I used to just play TA & TS and now I can’t enjoy it at all, and I still can’t find games of FFA.
