Halo - Grassroots

Else from the controversy of every title 343i has ever released, I’m painstakingly excited for this new installment, or as I keep finding myself. The visual fidelity isn’t quite there, but the music is better than what they ever came out with, or is more alike Halo, rather. The story is so far revealed by Escharum with his roaring, gritty, and crisp dialogue.

I’m really hopeful that Halo Infinite returns to the sci-fi military first person shooter it was designed as, with rank and structure having impactful meaning and purpose, as done away with in Halo 4 and 5. I really want to see the Marines salute their superior officers, and I want there to be surprise, envy, and deep profound meaning behind a Spartan II being present in a firefight, or just to be hailed across in the wilderness. For there to have impact such as who and what the Master Chief is, that’s what I miss, incredibly so.

The overall gritty art style that gave Halo this sort of mysterious ‘wow’ to the game and it’s installments is breathtaking. The fact that the Covenant were seemingly ‘human’ too. To be able to know that the enemy before you, one who was proud to follow an order, is not just some random computerised model; that the Sangheili, San Shyuum, Unggoy, Jiralhanae, etcetera are iterations of aliens with their own theorem, as pathos and ethos. That they are, in an instance, people. Halo has always had this meaning to your mindless killing, that there has always been more than meets the eye, and I really hope Infinite touches base with its predecessors and overcomes the memetic device it surely has become fro the last eight years.

This game doesn’t need to appeal to everyone. This game never appealed to anyone. People and their devices appealed to it, and became part of its legacy.

This leads me on to my next point… Do not let this game be rated for Teens. Let it be Mature for it is not a game that’s meant to be played and understood by everyone. It’s a starting point, a spiritual reboot, yeah? Then what better way to explore a spiritual reboot than to identify with the old games as best as possible while retaining the forthright and foreboding of the future iterations and its saga.

I will say it againe: Halo didn’t appeal to anyone, we appealed to it. It was a set piece, an ornament much more grand than golden and silver thistle. Appeal to yourselves the grandiose design that was meant to be Halo, for only that is what myself and millions of Halo fans wanted all along.

Redeeming the quality of a generation is a “gross misallocation of resources”.

Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.

P.S. I’m wanting to pan over other fan iterations of what Halo means to you. The Act Man, Hidden Xperia, Halo Canon, and other wild trips led me on a philosophical journey these last few nights with their processes of belief and love for the franchise.

Too late. Pretty sure it’s already been rated by the ESRB as T for Teen. Lol

But things can be re-evaluated and rated againe, as shown with a few titles.

I am pretty sure that Saints Row was re-rated. It’s been a long time since I did a follow-up on the ratings and whatnot, but I know it happens in certain instances, usually on behalf of the ERSB failing in their first attempt to rate the game, but they can be practiced to re-rated, so far from what I did know.

Hmmmm I couldn’t find anything on it. Generally I think it’s pretty tough to re-rate a game once launched. While in development, more likely but that’s cause the game is subject to change.

The only way I can see a rating changing post launch is from public outcry (which I find highly unlikely) and if a DLC comes out with content that differs from the base game.

So instead of reading OPs points and actually considering what he has to say, you cherry pick one of his conclusions and use it to rub salt in the wound.

Real M for Mature behaviour there…

Also the ESRB rating you reference is a placeholder as it hasn’t been officially rated yet.

Forgive my tardiness, wonky legs and flights of stairs, lol. I meant pre-launch, like next month or something as they address most of the issues.

Thank you for the information! I didn’t quite know if it was a placeholder or already decided!

Perhaps I actually agreed with what the OP said and was merely stating that I had seen the rating. Imagine jumping to conclusions like that.

Welcome to the internet bud, you must be new here.
