Halo going multi platform

Halo is by far my favorite video game series and the reason why I’m a Xbox fanboy. It’s been the reason why I always chosen an Xbox over other consoles, but let’s say it became available for other platforms. How would you guys feel about that? Of course first thought would be, yoink no, but think about what this could do for the halo community how much more money it’ll bring into the series, how much bigger the esport would be, etc. What do you guys think? Would you guys be okay with seeing halo on playstation, pc, maybe nientendo if it meant halo becoming greater than it is. Other games like cod and destiny do better because they’re on multiple platforms so obviously a greater consumer population, so what if halo had that, would that make halo great again?

it’s always been a MS exclusive, and while they said they would love to see a PC port, given the issues currently I don;t see it happening.

No…not really.
Because it’d bring unwanted people.

No. I dont need ps fans screaming in the forums about halo 5, and i dont need nintendo kids complaing about how its not cartoony enough or to violent (i love nintendo though, dont get me wrong) i would like to see more pc halo games though, it would open up the possibilities for the game and the pc gaming community wouldnt really have to much of an effect except for “yay halo is on pc master race” or “where the heck did this come from.”

well I would be ok with PC but if it went on playstation people on xbox will never hear the end of it

Let see how many platforms Halo is on Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC (Steam, W10, W8, Vista, XP) Android, iOS, and Windows phone. By definition Halo is already multi-platform. I personally would not like to see Halo on any other console platform besides Xbox. Chief’s best color is green after all.

Well Halo has been on PC in the past, and I wouldn’t mind seeing Halo 5 or future Halo games on it either, but considering MS owns it I think it would be odd seeing it on PlayStation or a Nintendo console. If it DID make the jump to PS4, that would basically make my XBO much more useless as Halo is one of the few exclusives on the thing, and one of the only reasons I got it. There’s nothing wrong with expanding the fanbase, sure, but at the same time why split it?

minecraft is owned by ms and its still on ps and recently added to wii u. i just dont think halo would fit in with nintendo and i dont want to have to deal with ps people

It is fine where it is. The entire reason I bought an Xbox and continue to be an Xbox fan.

It won’t ever happen and doesn’t need to, there’s a lot of people on waypoint that seem to hate the game ‘although they still talk about it and play it’ and these people will tell you the game has been a failure.
This isn’t true, it’s a hugely successful game and 343 and Microsoft have made a huge amount of money from it, plus all its merchandise and req sales etc.
IF it did ever happen a lot less people would buy an Xbox and Xbox would probably fail.

If it happened Microsoft would lose an exclusive, one that has gotten a lot of attention. By making it multiplatform console sales could drop a bit for Xbox and overall that would be potential money lost for them. Honestly I don’t think they would put up with that result.

I actually have no problem with this. Bringing Halo to windows 10 would open up the community on so many levels.

I would be okay seeing it on Windows 10, but I don’t feel it needs to go to other consoles like PS or Nintendo

Windows 10 with cross platform play would be interesting, though I would have to see the competitive difference between mouse and keyboard on PC and controller on xbox.

there would be riots in the streets lol with “vicious” protesters

Not going to happen on PS, probably PC though.

I agree. I only buy Xbox for Halo. It seems kind of selfish to say we only want it on Xbox, but I’ve built some solid friendships on Xbox over the years because of Halo. If it were to go cross-platform I would feel like that magic would be gone. The small community that we are wouldn’t feel as personable I guess?

i like the idea for , that more easy found playes in a match

I like the idea of being multi platform so it would bring in more players. But Ive bought 1 xbox. about 3-4 360’s and an Xbox one. Just so I can play Halo. Just to sum it all up MICROSOFT SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

Microsoft has encountered this issue several times when Bungie was in charge, they thought about it each time and said no. At that point in time having exclusive console titles meant more money; now MS is having second thoughts about the whole exclusivity idea (and so is PS), since MS effectively lost the last console “war” and are now open to cross platform play.
Microsoft could allow halo to play on PS and still make money from the game sales, but potentially lose console buyers and Xbox subscribers.
