I’m a BTB player who prefers objective game types over slayer. So flag, one flag, assault, one bomb, territories, three plots. I’m also a fan of equal starts in both weapons and vehicles at bases and no RNG shenanigans.

There are a lot of variations missing - for example, there are quite a few action sack variants (Gold rush? methane moshpit? Dino blasters anyone?!).
But, I agree that every title should be pushing the boundaries with their gametypes. Infinite could benefit greatly from a composer similar to MCC.

Thanks for the list of game types 343 will never give us. It will help me cry myself to sleep tonight after I inevitably rage quit a 140 ping server

Invasion was a unique one.
Almost felt campaign related only with the enemy team being real players.
Needs a comback big time

Neutral Flag was one of my favorite game types through various Halo games.
My all time favorite is Ricochet in Halo 4. Such a fun offense/defense game type that ensures team work and strategy to attack at the right time. Could throw the ball for a smaller score or if you ran the ball in it was more points. Can we get this added to MCC Halo 4?

Thank for doing this.
Game types will always change and grow as the franchise changes, but some of these classic game types bring me so much happiness and excitement to reminisce. Thank you.
Of course!!
I figured it was high time to go back and dig through the archives, especially since Halo seems to have lost it’s way in recent times. I wanted to remind the community and the devs of all the rich content to mine for future games instead of trying to recreate the wheel every time.

Imagine Ricochet mixed with Grifball

Now imagine that with repulsors and now you’ve got a new and exciting game mode to play!
Agreed. I think one of the most egregious things about post-Bungie Halo is that nothing is conserved. They are constantly introducing quite fun additions to gameplay and then the next game comes around and they’re nowhere to be found.
