Halo games need to be M-Rated to be "fun"?

i’ve seen a video from 9 months ago that discussed the ratings in halo games. Does Halo Infinite really needs to be M - Rated to be enjoyable or violence doesn’t interfers much? i want to hear your opinions.
disclaimer: thats not my opinion, i completly agree with the majority of you guys, i was just curious

No, it doesn’t add much to have more blood and gore. The story etc. has always been pretty tame in Halo games anyway, even with the Flood.

No, it doesn’t have to be rated M to be fun and a good game. I think Halo can work perfectly fine with a T rating.

That being said, the inclusion of blood when shooting enemies does add to the immersion factor for some people. Which I kind of get but for me personally it doesn’t make or break the game.

I think the biggest point of contention for me when it comes to Halo’s rating is intention vs execution. If 343 made the game/story they wanted to and it happened to just need a T rating then I’m good with it. But if they had to make sacrifices, whether it be the amount of violence in gameplay or dialogue changes to purposefully avoid an M rating, then yeah, that bothers me. At that point they’d be cutting quality of their vision in exchange for broader mass appeal. Unfortunately I doubt we’ll ever know whether that’s the case or not.

In Spain’s age rating system, each Halo game has always been classified as “Over 16 years old”. I guess the US equivalent is the T. What I mean by this is that Halo has always had a rating system for teenagers but not for that reason the story or the game has been considered for children, but as a mature and serious work for adults.

Going with what Spartan Blue 2 said, having a Teen rating prevents them from telling darker or more visceral stories. You can’t have those moments like in HCE where Chief has to get Keyes’ neural chip, after he’s been turned into a proto-gravemind, and the only way Chief can do that is to cave in his friend’s skull with his fist. You can’t really have those moments of shock that make you pause like that with a Teen rating. While having a Teen rating doesn’t make a game not fun, it does limit how immersive developers can make a story.

Now, if you’re just refering to blood in multiplayer, that’s not really a big deal to me. If you’ve ever seen anybody shot in real life, the only visual you get when the round impacts is mainly dust and a little pink mist if it’s well lit. Blood only really starts to appear afterward, spilling out of the the wound cavity and pooling on the ground if a vital area has been hit.

Nope the idea of Infinite needing a M rating is as bad an argument of the game Needing/Needing the removal of Sprint.

Its just a dumb argument that’s not going to go anywhere as I’ve never had it before were myself and friends have looked at a game and said “Wish that were Rated M would’ve been soo much better”

yeah I just don’t see it. (I’m rambling not sure if all that made sense)
