Books on the other hand are a lot more common. If I were in a PC right now I’d at least try but I’m not doing that on my phone.

It takes place mid-Halo 2. It’s set immediately after Regret jumps to Installation 05.

That’s interesting and makes sense actually. Halo wars and the book fall of Reach have spartan IIs, so the spartan III program was introduced during the events of reach? Or just before.

The SPARTAN-III program was established by Ackerson at the end of December 2531, several months after the events of Halo Wars
By the time of the Fall of Reach, Kurt and Mendez were training the SPARTAN-III GAMMA Company, the third company of +300 SPARTAN-IIIs
Actually the events of the first mission in Halo Combat Evolved happens before Halo Wars even starts. In the very beginning of Halo Wars it says that a ship is carrying precious cargo, this is the ship that Chief, Keyes, Cortana, and Johnson are on. So, Halo Combat Evolved and Halo Wars happen at nearly the exact same time.
Edit: Halo 3: Odst happens a few hours after Halo three’s events takes place.
