it cant handle the two growing armies of the battlefield.
In simplfied terms, theres alot of people and posts

this is the first day i’ve been able to get on the forums since the end of may i think
E3 broke the forums. The web team is trying to return things to normal

I don’t know but it happens too frequently that’s why I won’t leave this site in case it does happen again : )

For me, reloading the page a lot works every time… it just needs to be reloaded a lot sometimes

That doesn’t work for me…when they are down they are down.
Newly updated forum + new users + very limited hardware.
One would expect you know, MS, to be able to handle a few thousand visitors when other sites manage, but once again greed over quality. Instead of just upping the bandwidth and making sure the forums works (or games for that matter) they just wait and hope people will migrate to other forums instead.
If the forums can’t even handle E3, forget about Halo 4 release week/month. Then again, forget about multiplayer the first few hours/days given how well they managed Reach, the Reach beta and these forums.

How do you know and, if it’s true, why the -Yoink!-?

Hosted by some small outfit no-ones ever heard of.
Seriously, when the forums are available the performance is much better than it was a month ago. The availability isn’t due to the hosting platform or the load, more likely a side-effect of splitting the forums from the rest of the site.
{edit} of course I may be wrong…

The forums have always been a separate entity.
As far back as I can remember its been “forums.halo.xbox.com”.
See, this is where I get confused - pre-June links had a “halo.xbox.com/forums/yaf_…” format, but now it’s “Halo - Official Site (en)…” which means different host.
Check your browser history if it goes back far enough to compare - old links will get remapped to the new format though.
