Halo for PS3?

I have been playing halo since the beginning and read all the books and love everything about all of them. Each game ties into one another but each game also brings something new to the table.

So when I see games like Call of Duty that has a story line that is so predictable it’s ridiculous, but they out sell halo I get dumb struck. I have played CoD and each game they have feels just like the last one (online and campaign). Now I know there are die hard fans of CoD out there and I am not here to bash on CoD (actually I am I hate that damn game) I just thought maybe the reason they sell more is because they are available on Xbox and PS3.

I remember that the PS2 did monstrously better than Xbox for the game selection and choices like Grand Theft Auto, so I was shocked to see GTA 4 come out on Xbox 360, which probably really helped with their sales. So my question is this would you be ok with allowing future halo games to come out on PS3? It would greatly boost 343 sales giving them more money to make future games better and I bet that halo might actually out sell CoD, which I would love to see that happen so we could shove it in their faces. It would also help out people that have a PS3 and cannot afford an Xbox 360 and are forced to play games like CoD (poor -Yoinks!-). What do you think?

Microsoft isn’t going to let Halo go multiplatform, end of story.

Are you out of your mind?

Um, you know that Halo is exclusive to Xbox because they want you to buy an Xbox and Xbox Live if you want to play Halo, right?

Halo is Microsoft’s baby. They’d sooner let it go to ps3 than Nintendo would let Mario go on the xbox

microsoft providing a product for there competition is a really dumb move because it could potentially cost them money and customers.

…What’s this madness you speak of?

The thing is, 343i is owned by Microsoft. It’s not an independent developer. Think of how Bungie had to make that transition to becoming an independent developer, and within the transaction, had to give over the right to Halo.

The biggest thing here is that sure, CoD outsells Halo. However, if CoD sells 3 million copies on the PS3, and 3 million copies on the Xbox 360, and 2 million copies of Halo 4 on the Xbox 360, that’s 2 million more customers with an Xbox 360. That is not only going to push people to buy an Xbox 360 console for Halo 4, but also choose to pick up CoD for Xbox, since they can also play Halo 4 on Xbox.

It’s all about the system sales. No point in helping PS3 sales. You’d just be giving people an easier choice to choose PS3 over Xbox.

Something like this DID ALMOST happen with the DS. A little game called Halo DS was going to be released, but the deal was cancelled because Microsoft wanted like 1/3 of all Nintendo DS system sales. Yeah. Halo is THAT important.

mario for xbox!

What’s so hard for people to understand about the term ‘exclusive’?
PC has exclusives.
PS3 has exclusives.
Wii has exclusives.
And guess what, Halo is an Xbox 360 exclusive. I don’t see why no one is asking or constantly pestering for PS3 exclusives to go multiplatform (well I do, most suck) yet people constantly -Yoink- at the devs of Halo and Gears of War to make their series multiplatform.

Additional sales on PS3 wouldn’t mean jack for 343i, MS are the publisher and owners of the Halo IP, they would take in any additional profits as they are the ones who decide the game budgets 343i work off. 343i have an enormous budget already and have any advertising fees paid off by MS, going multiplatform could result in a worse game as 343i will spend more money and time making multiple versions of the game and MS won’t be backing them meaning they may have to pay for advertising and work with smaller budgets. Not all devs will give the same budget as MS, being backed by MS is one of the best publishers you can have, big budgets, great advertising/marketing, and no BS online passes or day 1 DLC shoved down your throat like what EA do. I’d hate to see the rights go to EA or Activision, and I doubt Ubisoft or THQ have the money to make the acquisition, so it’d probably be EA/Acti. Then watch the online passes come in and the quality deteriorate.

Just accept that each console has exclusives. Xbox made Halo, I don’t see why it should leave.

No, it would be more work for 343 because of different bugs, which means it would take longer for the game to come out for everybody.

edit: If you think your thread would be dumb then why did you post it?

No, first off xbox 360 is doing much better than ps3, second that would degrade the quality of halo, third no matter what MS wont do that. Cod has been getting more sales than halo on 360 alone, this wont change cod having more sales.

Ok everybody I am not saying that it would happen or if it is possible I am asking if you are OK with it or not. Not that Microsoft won’t allow it.

Hey guys, let’s give our biggest competitor our best console-selling franchise!

Microsoft, not Bungie or 343, owns the IP. It would be like making a Zelda game for 360.

I just want and it will be only on Xbox.

I highly doubt Microsoft would allow Halo to go multiplatform, as it would take away some incentive to actually buy an xbox. In fact, if the rumors of the 720 releasing next year are true, I don’t plan on buying it until Halo 5 rolls around (2015).

As I need to get some use out of the new xbox I have to buy, as my first generation 360 fell to the red ring of death.

With all the intergration between Tablets, Phones, personal computers, and consoles slated for the release of Windows 8 later this year (MS lowering the price if you allready have 7 installed is pretty freaking cool too as an incentive) we’d be more likely to see Games for Windows Live and Xbox Live making a more substanstial merge then for a first party product to go over to the opposite platform.

> (MS lowering the price if you allready have 7 installed is pretty freaking cool too as an incentive)

That’s a better way of selling a OS. Too bad I might not buy the next windows OS, My dad knows a guy in the Army Reserves that has the keyless discs. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, which is more incentive why Microsoft should get off their butts and start working on Halo games for the PC, coughHalo 3cough, release the games that aren’t bringing in money for the Xbox any more because they’re old coughHalo 3cough, use that as a way to sell more Windows OS, which brings Microsoft more money any ways.

But I don’t see Microsoft ever letting one of their games go over to the Playstation. That’s two rival companies… Where as the PC, it’s still in Microsoft’s court.

Yeah… NO!
That will never ever happen! Never, never, never!
