I live Xbox and Nintedo but the switch is way more portable than xbox so tis would be awsome AND since HCE already had a DS port that was cut so that would mean the Blam Engine of MCC would support it, so how hard would the port be for The MCC? Not shure about the slipspace engine of Infinite. (for more on the DS thing go check on Halopedia)
Very, very hard. The switch was inferior in spec to both the Xbox One and the PS4, and I don’t see it being able to run a ported version.
I do, however, think that Xbox Game Cloud functionality would be possible.
In older versions of the switch with a glitch you can play xbox games on it (including Halo MCC)
And your source, gamer?

Well, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is already portable with the release of the Steam Deck, right? Even though Nintendo and Microsoft are on friendly terms, I don’t see Xbox games being playable on the Switch. Officially, at any rate.
This video only proves my point. In the video, the host was using a modified AndroidOS installation on his Nintendo Switch, which allowed him to download and use Xbox Game Cloud (in its preview state) in order to play the game.
If MCC gets ported to Switch consoles, it would be via XGC. The native hardware would probably handle CE and 2 just fine, but moving into more recent titles, there’s a lot of bottlenecks that optimization can’t fix.
still on the switch tho ![]()
MCC unfortunately doesn’t run on the Steam Deck. That game does not like Linux, a community workaround will probably happen to get the campaigns working offline though.
On topic, From a “I don’t know anything about game dev” perspective, I would love to see some of the 360 era Halo games running on Switch. I mean that thing can run Skyrim pretty well, surely with some dev time and money, it can run Halo 3?
It already can run stubbs the zombie, which means the blam engine is in fact on the switch already, so its completely within reason they could port some of the earlier titles at the least
If the Switch can run games like Breath of the Wild or Legends Arceus, it can handle MCC. Yes some optimization would be needed BUT it could be done if given enough time and devlopment.
The thing runs doom eternal, mortal kombat, and wolfenstein… if optimized well pretty sure it could run it
The Switch runs Doom 2016 and Eternal just fine so i think it could easily handle MCC. It just needs the same graphical downgrades that the Doom games had to undergo.
That said I would totally buy Halo again on my Switch.
