I just purchased Halo Universal digital download from www.macgamestore.com, which is where Macsoft (the game developer linked me to) and it asked me for my original CD key, which I gave it, and after I burned the DMG file, it asked again for my CD key, which I put in again. After updating to 2.0.4, and I click on a game, it says “Invalid CD Key”. How is my key invalid? I feel like I just got ripped off… I emailed MacSoft’s support, who replied back stating that they don’t hold the Halo for Mac licensing anymore and I would have to contact Microsoft. I called Microsoft’s support, and the man told me there was no phone technicians for my problem and I would have to post on answers.microsoft.com. I did, and a support engineer on the site then told me to post here! Can someone please help me? This is getting ridiculous!
MAC is a very unstable system sometimes, it would be better for you to use a Windows OS for gaming. Mac isn’t really GAMING devices.

Mac has always been more stable every single time I’ve used them in the past 14 years. That is also irrelevant to my problem. All you did is call Mac unstable and say it isnt for gaming. Had nothing to do with the problem… -_-
Anyone else have something HELPFUL to say?
A Jew Hobo, seems like you went through the rig-a-ma-roll that I’ve been through also. Humorous, isn’t it?
I haven’t even attempted to dabble in purchasing the UB from MacSoft. However, in my experiences, I would suggest calling them on the phone (the phone number listed on the Destineer web site) whenever you want to contact them about anything. E-mail seems to be a secondary method of communication. So give them a call, explain to them the situation, and if it looks like they cannot accommodate your situation, ask for a refund. After all, you’re not going to be able to even open the application unless you have a valid CD key.
Otherwise, you’re in the right place at this forum. If you need to resolve things on the Microsoft side directly with them, send a PM to BS Angel, the community moderator here. A helpful reply will typically be given within a week.
I didn’t even know about the update to 2.0.4; I thought 2.0.3 was the most recent. I think I read about 2.0.4 en passant (a chess term for ‘in passing’). Anyway, if I were you, I would also ask what’s up at the MacGamingMods.com Halo forum, since the Halo for Mac gamers there are more attuned to the current situation you have. The members at this forum are used to using Windows and Microsoft-sponsored objects.
I can enter the main game, go on the main menu, and play on Campaign. It’s when I click any multiplayer server, it gives me “Invalid CD Key” After calling Microsoft EIGHT times, going through general support, game support, then licensing, I finally got a woman who simply said “It could be we just do not support it anymore, sorry” I never really thought of that… Anyway, Destineer cannot legally give me a new key, and tells me to call Microsoft. Even after quoting Macsoft/Destineer, Microsoft has no idea what to do and the best I got other that them being confused as to what I asked was “Call or email Destineer” and they gave me the contact info on the contact page
Seem’s like I’m pretty SOL here. Considering I have to use the same CD key from the PowerPC version as in the Universal Binary version, I think I may need to re-purchase Halo for Mac for PPC on ebay/amazon. Too bad it runs $70-$150… Not really worth it to play on my MDD G4…
Any suggestions?

sawnose used to help out a lot of users who played the Mac/PC game on bungie.net. Maybe give him a ring over there?

This would be your best bet. Not sure what else you can do.
