Halo followed star wars' path

Notice the pattern?

CE - IV (the golden icon that changed the industry)

2 - V (the more grounded serious sequel, widely held as the greatest in the saga)

3 - VI (fast paced ending that tied all loose ends, some felt it fell short)

Wars - I (…what?)

ODST - II (it lacked something important)

Legends - clone wars (animated filler)

Reach - III (the most epic and dark prequel, best to some for solid reasons)

CEA - special editions (cash grab, redundant paint code ruins things in the way)

MCC - more and worse special editions trying to replace the originals (new platforms = excuse)

4 - VII / rogue one (set up something interesting and compelling like TFA but had fresh ideas like RO, felt like a return to the very first entry)

5 - VIII (overmilked and ruined an important character, trashed the things it was meant to continue and was internally mediocre, yet some went claiming it’s awsome if not perfect)

Wars 2 - mandalorian (messy and simple yet entertaining, some of it’s ideas may be important afterwards)

Fireteam raven - solo (lazy attempt to appeal nostalgia)

Infinite - IX??? (story is in trouble, cluttered agenda, weird looking developnent)

This kinda makes me worried about infinite

it all makes sense now…

343 never let in incompetent writers that had a political agenda to push, while the story might not be what we want they do care and seem to be listening to our feedback unlike what we’ve seen with Star Wars in the last few years

Nope. I don’t get this at all.

Halo Wars 1 is a great game. Do not compare it to the dumpster fire that is the Phantom Menace. It’s far better than HW2, which you compared to the Mandalorian. You lost a lot of credibility right there.

CEA and MCC as cash grabs? Man, come on. Being able to play Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 (not to mention the additions) on populated Xbox Live servers in 2020 is an amazing experience, especially the way the graphics upscaled. Sure, it was a bit problematic at first, but now? That’s amazing. It’s like being able to play a graphically updated, online multiplayer version of Mario Kart 64 or GoldenEye in 2015. Do you know how cool that would have been?

Episode 7 is what ruined the Star Wars sequel trilogy by giving Episode 8 nothing original to work with. I would say that’s just the opposite for Halo. Halo 4’s story breathed fresh, new life into the story of Halo by introducing the Prometheans and fundamentally changing the Chief/Cortana relationship. Halo 5 took all of that and just wasted it into a boring “AI vs Organic” storyline that has been beaten to death in Sci-Fi, just like Episode 7 was a boring re-write of Episode 4.

You lost me at Halo Wars and beyond. MCC isn’t a cash grab in my opinion either. We weren’t able to play (almost) all the Halo titles in one game, let alone play Halo CE or 2 on live in today’s time.

Not really a fair comparison, as every game Bungie made was great and even if it wasn’t as good as the previous games, it tried something new. You can’t compare those to Star Wars Episodes I-III, and it feels like you’re stretching the game’s actual content and self a little bit so it fits with your point better.

okey, I admit I went too hard on H4 and too easy on force awakens, I overreacted. I never said wars was bad and not even phantom menace but it was very different and I felt some things in the story offputing. CEA was a cashgrab period, and I was referring to MCC when it first launched.
