We got a Halo game set in space from Spartan Games, pitting UNSC fleets against Covenant fleets, set around the time of the Fall of Reach. The basic tactics for the gameplay mechanics is that the Covenant needs to get close and flank, while the UNSC wants to stay as far away as they can, unless they’re delivering Spartans for boarding actions.

What’s your favorite faction?
What Battlegroups do you like to use?
What tactics do you like to use?

For me, I like playing the UNSC, with my favorite Battlegroup being two Marathons, with 1-2 Paris Frigate formations. My favorite tactic is to hide behind a large planet or space station and when I get the Covenant to go around it one way, I loop around the other and shoot them from behind as they’re engaging my other forces. It’s essentially a re-creation of the Keyes Loop.
(I like playing the Covenant as well, but I haven’t yet managed to pull a win against the aforementioned battlegroups, which means my Covenant tactics are lacking)

Hey, got halo fleet battles last year and became interested in the game…

What’s your favorite faction?
i like the covenant because I just find them cool. I also like them because that’s my most powerful fleet.

What Battlegroups do you like to use?
i like the cas assault carrier, its so detailed and it’s amazing.

What tactics do you like to use?

i like to play it safe but strategic. Medium ships in first, then have the small ships defend the capital ships.

Im a fan of the “Keyes Loop” too actually. Its surprisingly satisfying.

I like to stick a Defended Valiant with a Marathon/Autumn, and blast the Covenant from across the board.

For the Covenant, I like to stick the Prophet in the nose of the CAS Assault Carrier so he can negate incoming shots.

I also like to back-up a Defended CPV Destroyer with ADP Tri-Formations to boost its survivability enough to use its beam weapon.

For me the Covenant version of the Valiant-Marathon/Autumn combo is the CCS-RCS battlegroup. They tend to do decent at softening UNSC lines before the Destroyers arrive.
