Halo Feels Odd To Me Now

I’ve been playing so much Unreal Tournament '99 and Unreal Tournament 2004. They’re such awesome games, with 2004 being my favorite and has set/created my expectations for future first person shooters. Going from that to Halo, I have to say that Halo feels strange. The two weapon limit, slow movement, and regenerating health were weird design decisions considering that Timesplitters came out before Halo CE and was an awesome old-school fps on console. TS1 and 2 had Goldeneye’s aiming, but they still controlled well and TS Future Perfect had normal aiming. Speaking of Future Perfect, it perfected console first person shooters, and met the expectations UT 2004 set. I’ve played a lot of Halo games from CE to Infinite. I enjoyed them. The only ones I haven’t played are Halo 5, Halo Wars 1 and 2, Spartan Assault, and Infinite’s campaign. Bungie still did a good job with Halo, but I prefer Perfect Dark, Timesplitters, and Unreal Tournament.

I love the TimeSplitters series so much (★‿★)

I probably wouldn’t go so far as to say Future Perfect ‘perfected’ console aiming cos’ I feel like Quake 4 or Serious Sam 2 which both came out the same year felt more fluid & responsive when aiming, but TS:FP was still pretty great to control

Halo kinda feels odd to me sometimes too, but that’s because I’ve been playing stuff like Counter Strike: Source & Quake Live a lot more in-between Halo releases, I’d even say my ‘skill’ in Halo has decreased because of my PC gaming endeavors, it feels weird for me going back & fourth between controller and K&M, plus framerate & field of view play a part too.
