Halo fans who are now parents

Hey everyone! I’ve been a Halo fan for most of my life. The very first video game I played was Combat Evolved, and I’ve stuck with it ever since. There have been many changes in my life, but most recently I’ve become a father. She’s four months old, and has brought many new perspectives to life. Of course, I’ve played some songs from various Halo soundtracks, and if she shows interest in it when she’s older, I’ll show her the games and books. I was curious though if any of you have had similar experiences?

I have yet to introduce my 2 year old to Halo, but he knows how to turn on the Xbox One from the controller at his mums which is a start :+1:

I haven’t had those experiences yet but I’m hoping that my kids will show interest. Its how my wife and I met so I’m hoping our kids will show at least a little interest.

As long as you don’t force it because believe me that will end bad in the long run.

My 7 year old gets very excited when he sees anything Halo because he knows that I like it; however, he doesn’t know much at all about the game. He has watched me play multiplayer on occasion, but he hasn’t shown any interest in playing video games yet. He is still at the age where he would rather go outside and play and I want him to be able to enjoy that for as long as he can

I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old, the oldest sits on my lap sometimes while I play. I let her play it and other games as well.

I recognize you, I actually follow you on Instagram! I love your posts, and I loved the wedding photos you posted with the painted helmets!

Married and father of two here. I played Halo CE with my oldest son and he likes it, but still to advanced for him. He seems to like Smash Bros best at the moment, especially since the Sephiroth dlc came out. He does enjoy reading the books with me and playing with the Chief toys.

It’s important to pass the torch, to all of you who have kids.

I don’t have kids myself, but if I ever do have kids (hopefully I do), this is something I hope to do with them.

My 7 year old prefers fortnite. Ive played Halo with him before. He enjoys btb just like his old man.

I sadly don’t have kid but i do have a fiance who is addicted to firefight now XD

My son Niko used to play Halo with me. He passed away in 2015 sadly. But I can say he had a blast when he did play. He was a huge lover of the FOTUS helmet, so it kinda holds a special place in my heart.

Halo has been my 8 y/o son’s main passion since we got MCC on PC. He’s beaten most of the campaigns, bonding with his uncle on coop. Our family all took on Halo-themed costumes this Halloween. He got pretty much every Halo Mega Construx for Christmas, and he’s getting my 6 y/o daughter into it right now too. We’ll see if Infinite ends up flopping or 343 includes too much of their liberal agenda into the game. This could be the next 10 years of his life or just another phase like Thomas the Tank Engine and Peppa Pig.

I have a 10 year old son. I like the story. He likes the multi-player.

Bada-bing!

My 6 yo daughter is really showing interest in some of my Xbox one games. Recently she wants to watch me play reach firefight… I was thinking she is a little young but reading these comments maybe not.

Congratulations on your baby, brother, I hope you and your family have a lot of health and happiness!! ;D
I’m 25 years old, I don’t have children, not that I know, but I have 3 nieces and they like to play video games too. They don’t play Halo, but they do play other games, like Lego Batman, Lego Starwars, etc

That’s amazing! Regardless of what happens with Infinite, you’ve made some great memories with your son!

Thank you! I have to say there’s nothing better than coming home from work and seeing that baby smile. The Lego games are some good fun too!

When you decide to show her Halo is entirely up to you, but it’s neat that she’s showing interest in watching you play!
