Halo Fans are Ruining Halo Infinite

It just doesn’t feel right to me. It’s difficult to use and the benefit to try and learn doesn’t seem to be there. For me, at least.
They really just need to include all weapons.

Can anyone confirm if the Commando and BR have different aim assist values? Maybe different AA over range?

I dont remember it being that way in the flight, but I could be mistaken. Either way, right now, the Commando is having a hard time filling its intended role. I enjoyed using it in the flight, but it feels neutered somehow.

And the ravager was spot on in the flight. It was never intended to be “like a BR.” It was a quasi-power weapon, like the shotgun used to be, or the needler in H4, and thats fine. But now it’s nerfed to the point of being useless.

Agreed. The Commando is a waste of time now. Might as well not even be in the game

Yes, Aozolai made a video and it shows the BR gets slight bullet magnetism, whereas the Commando gets basically 0, you have to hit dead on to land shots.

Then again, magnetism and AA are two completely different things, people tend to mix them up.

i agree, the flight weapons were FAR more ballanced. and now… the unballanced weapons are:
AR (needs more of a spread), Sidekick (litteral spam gun), Grav HAM (too long of a range, like good god), Ravager (actually useless now), Plasma Pistol (no reason to use it over the disruptor, also no EMP to vehicles), Disruptor (slower attack speed), Stalker rifle (what’s the point of this gun? it’s not a sniper, that’s the shock rifle. and it’s not the carbine, since the pulse carbine is a combination of the plasma rifle and carbine. so what is this?), Needler (slower the projectile speed), pulse carbine (give out more shield damage), and commando (increase the fire speed)
the only ballanced weapons are:
Sniper, SPNKR, Skewer, Shock rifle, Energy Sword, and the Bulldog

The Stalker Rifle is a 3 shot kill and has the fastest kill time of any precision weapon that isn’t a Shock Rifle or Sniper, with a 0.95s TTK.

yeah, that’s a little too fast. doncha think? faster than the BR, and takes 1 less shot than the BR, now that is broken

The BR actually has the slowest kill time, even slower than the pistol and Commando.

And I think the Stalker is fine. You have to be very precise with it. It’s not any worse than the Shock Rifle imo

Pretty much every complaint post in this subforum is trashcan fodder at best because everyone has knee-jerk overly emotional reactions because they either don’t get out much or they’re just hopped up on call-out culture.

Case in point, Marco’s super brief review of all the weapons is pretty accurate. This isn’t “you’re gunna master every weapon in a week” type balance, it’s more so everything has it’s own style, pros, cons, sounds, etc.

The commando is a bit meh, but it’s also funny how people will click into my feed and be like “oh wow he’s using the commando”, which does require a lot of throttle control to use and I thought it was perfect in the last flight, but idk they might take that extra bullet away.

*At least I like to think of it as the sidekick’s big brother and I like how to 3 star it you really do have to full-auto and roll off of it with a highly metered feathering. That’s how guns work and I like it.

My armchair belief is to bring the commando back toward flight balance a half notch, it should be user friendly in close or in sub-AR range, but for skilled users beyond that. AKA the further out you’re shooting the more trigger control you need to have, which it’s kinda there just needs another tweak *

I normally don’t like blaming fans of anything for voicing what they want but here I’m in 100% agreement. I had more fun during the flights even though it had less content. Everything felt good to me during the flight with exception of the BR but now there are just weapons that feel like a downgrade from the AR and Sidekick.
I don’t even want to pick up the commando and it’s a shame because it’s such a cool weapon design but I know that my pistol is going to land more shots with a similar mag size and get me the kill just as fast if not faster in most situations and the AR just blows it away close up.

Even the AR and Sidekick don’t feel as good as they did in the flight and I’m seeing people wanting to nerf those even more.

I think 343 is also to blame here as they took the balance feedback and just did too much with it, instead of adjusting 1 thing at a time to see the impact that it had on the overall balance

Exactly. Overbalancing can really take the fun out of a game, I’ve seen it happen.

I can’t believe the number of people thinking the nerfed shotgun is good. No bulltrue for you guys.

AR would be fine if it didn’t crossmap on all maps in the play list. I mean holy smokes can we take the range down a little on that thing? Yeah, you bet I want to see a nerf on that because that’s super annoying. It’s THE power weapon of the game.

I think calling for a nerf on most weapons in the game isn’t needed. Most are self-nerfing because they are only effective in the hands of top tier players. Even the “grenade launcher” in this game requires a direct hit.

The Bulldog is fine. I don’t think it’s changed since the beta, right? 2 shots to kill. If you’re a good aim. I’m not a good aim.

The Ravager is absolutely garbage. The Flight was MUCH better. It shouldn’t be hot garbage.

Commando nerf feels entirely 100% unnecessary. It basically only has Clean up potential on the first 2 shots out the gun. And I do mean clean up. Someone else weakens while you steal kills.

I’m confused why people keep saying the AR is better at range. I’ve lost every Ranged fight AR vs Sidekick. Maybe I’m a terrible shot, sure. But I don’t see people long-ranging the AR in general.

I agree a lot with the OP. Halo fans have some harsh cherry-picked rose-tinted glasses action going. Which is heavily affected by their own playstyle or the shortcomings of others IN their playgroup.

Solo queue in reach was a nightmare. Enemy team grabbed the hog. your team didn’t “because they’re weak” and then you’re looking at a blow-out because the “weak” warthog has been sitting ontop of your teams face the entire game. Then years later, you have people still complaining the vehicles are weak. It’s kinda wild.

“Halo Reach progression was the best” - Nah, That was a grind and a half. I wanted Inclement weather and it took me hundreds of Hours. HUNDREDS. I burnt out on Reach so many times. And it HAD nearly the same challenge system to “BOOST” your progress through the absolute Slog. And it had a Player level cap when it came out too. AND a credit cap.

“3 had the best sandbox” Most weapons in 3 were absolutely terrible. BR or bust. Plasma pistol? Lol no. Dual wielding was basically a waste of time except for a COUPLE combos.

The DMR is definitely my favorite weapon as well and I’d love to see it return and I also mostly play campaign I’m not really a PVP player I’ll play it because it is genuinely a fun experience but I really prefer more cooperative gameplay rather than PVP I prefer PVE like the campaign or firefight and I really would love to see firefight return not war zone firefight warzone firefights ok but it’s still not the same as the classic firefight for Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach

Honestly I feel like the stalker rifle was created to be a more “balanced” DMR. pin point reticle, sluggish fire rate but 3 shots to kill, and double scope so you can hit things farther out with your new pin point reticle.

No I believe the stalker rifle is meant to replace the beam rifle because it’s replacing the covenant sniper with a banished sniper and the stalker rifle is not a three hit kill I hit someone while using it three times in game and it didn’t even knock their Shields down and each hit was direct 343 still has some tweaks they need to apply to the weapons before they can feel 100% like Halo the commando needs less recoil and it doesn’t need to be fully automatic it needs to be semi-automatic or have the option to toggle from fully to semi-automatic and the stalker rifle needs to do more damage overall because it’s supposed to be the equivalent to the human sniper rifle and it isn’t close in damage

Its 2 to the body 1 to the head to kill em. And beam rifle was replaced by the shock rifle the actual banished sniper that can 1 shot on the head and has the emp electricity function to differentiate itself from the S7. Beam rifle was gutted because it was almost exactly 1:1 with the S7 with the only difference being it was on the covenant energy charge system. Stalker rifle is a carbine/DMR replacement.

Definitely agree with the points in this topic. As well, they need to revert the AR to the last flight values, they stealth nerfed it back to the point where it’s feeling like it doesn’t have as much of a role. The Commando required much better aim than the BR which is just easy mode so it’s disappointing to see them nerf it so drastically.

Yeah and we need more ODST stuff too!

The beam rifle is still better in comparison to both of those rifles the shock rifle is a bizarre weapon in honesty and I’m not sure why they added it and I mean it’s unique and it’s cool but the stalker rifle is not two shots to the body because I have shot someone three times with it and their shields were still up
