Which do you consider cannon?

Which do you consider cannon?
The novel or the game?
The Fall of Reach.
Both. Except for the stuff in Fall of Reach that’s been retconned like when humans first encountered Hunters, Elites etc.
Both are Halo Canon, Halo the Fall of Reach doesn’t need to be changed at all, the same goes to Halo Reach. These things called Data Drops help people understand how they work.

The only thing that need’s worked out is the time, but we understand that it still works. The only reason times a problem is the fact that the game is in reach time, and the Book’s in Earth time. that would help with understanding when events happened.
I would say both. They both compliment each other.
THEY BOTH FIT TOGETHER FINE NOW CAN PEOPLE JUST STOP WITH THIS
Both. There are ways to combine them without really screwing with the stories each tells. THey each have good elements to them that the other could benefit from. Instead of trying to make them work with each other no matter how little sense it ends up making (like 343 has done), they could retcon a couple things in each and make a single, better, more comprehensive story.
For example:
We still don’t know how the pillar of autumn being on reach on aug 30 fits in with TFOR since in the book it was never on Reach. They could, for example, have John and Linda defending the POAs platform when noble team arrives with the package. The four spartans defend the platform, waiting for red team to show up so they can leave. But a covenant cruiser closes in on their position. Linda “dies” here instead of on gamma station, followed by emile. John and Noble six have to decide which one of them stays behind but ultimately noble 6 does (Cortana, who is pretty much humanities last hope at this point DID choose him after all). Both stories keep their essence in tact, all I did was move Lindas death to here rather than on gamma station. It also has the fate of those two main characters (John and noble 6) intercept for one key moment.
Ta-da.
I believe half of what I see and nothing of what I hear or read.
Having said that, I’ve been from the Epsilon Eradina sytem, to the Soell system, to the Sol system, to the Coelest system, back to the Sol system, out to Kingdom Come and been stuck there ever since.
I’ve somehow seen the trials of my fellow Spartans, soldiers… humans while I slept. Visions so vivid in the back of my mind, as though I was there. Somehow I was treading on their domain? It matters not.
I’ve seen only half the truth and been told nothing but lies. Every document false. Every reason for not.
Wake me when you need me.

Both are canon. Fall of Reach has a lot of outdated information, and for a few things here and there to be retconned is nothing new. Halo Reach hardly interferes with the core events of “Fall of Reach” (a book, I might add, that has very little to do with the actual battle of Reach). The events of Halo Reach take place in Northern Eposz, and Master Chief was in Souther Eposz while he was on Reach. With Winter Contingency in place, most of the planet and UNSC had no idea Reach was under attack until the Fleet of Particular Justice showed up on August 30, 2552.
