Halo Evolutions and Halo Legends videos

I’m confused here, in the Halo Legends “Prototype” episode at the end, the soldier said “we’re heading for rendevous with the UNSC Heart of Midloathian, over and out” but at the end of halo Evolutions, Heart of Midloathian blew up… Did it blow up on route the planet Algolis or after it got the survivors?

That… is a good question

The Heart of Midlothian was boarded as soon as she emerged from slipspace in the Algol system. The rendezvous never occurred, quite possibly meaning all the survivors died anyway. Ouch.

What Kane said. Prototype begins just before (or right around) the time that Midnight in the Heart of Midlothian takes place.

I did not think about this consequence. Bummer.

Why would the survivors automatically die? The transport ship and Pelican already make it to an unnamed frigate. With the Heart of Midlothian never showing up the frigate carrying the survivors from Algolis could have merely slipped to whatever destination out of the system on their own.

I thought that frigate they went to WAS the Heart of Midlothian?

The Heart of Midlothian was a UNSC destroyer not a frigate.

Pretty much this. Heart of Midlothian was likely their escort back to human-controlled space through the random slipspace jumps they needed to take. A frigate is more than adequate to handle refugees with their large hangar spaces aboard, probably even more so than the similarly sized destroyers that likely save every inch of deck space for weapons and ordnance.
