Halo Encyclopedia

I have purchased all Halo novels excluding the uprising series and I greatly enjoy a good Halo read. This gets me to my point , i have yet to read the Halo encyclopedia and i was wondering what your thoughts on it are.

Should i purchase it? is it worth it? or is it going to be 30 dollars to just to remind me of things i already know? Your opinion would be greatly appreciated!

i have bought the Halo encyclopedia and i think it is great

it gives details on everything and answers a lot of questions i had.
the only thing missing is the new info from the Latest books like primordium.

Buy it if you want all the info from halo ( by the way it’s an huge book the size of an xbox slim only a little bit thinner )

also make sure you buy the Reach expanded edition

Its worth it. Great expanded details that the book didn’t deliver are on the encyclopedia.

Bungie edition has no Halo Reach!

343i edition is the newest! Has everything up to Reach.

Be forewarned, it has many typos and errors. In fact, many inconsistencies are due to copy and pasting from the old Halo Wikis, before they were updated (like the “First” and “Second” Battles of Earth). Dont take every article at face value with that book.

I have the first version, its cool the first time, but boring when you want to reread it (REAL BORING)

I’m waiting for the new one with all the Reclaimer trilogy stuff. Not sure when it’s gonna happen, but hopefully it will.

I thought it was a worthwhile buy, but be warned that there’s a lot of misinformation and typos.

A better buy is the Ultimate Visual Guide, but both are great.

Actually the first edition was full of errors and a bit amateurish if i say so myself. The second edition was slightly better but still not great as a reference material. It has the air and presentation of a kiddies book tbh.

I remember someone from 343i stating that they would do another edition in the future and would start from scratch with it, so i would wait until then. Probably sometime after halo 4 drops.

To be honest, and I’m not doing this just to blow my own horn, its really not worth a buy. If you like to have a full and complete collection or just to have a nice nerdy addition to your coffee table then by all means purchase it.

If your on a budget, just want the hard facts, or otherwise, then you won’t be missing out on anything by skipping it. Halopedian.com, HBO Story Page, etc. already has most, if not all, of this stuff transferred.
