I went to pre order and it won’t even let me pre order says item out of stock. This is heartbreaking.
I know, I’ve gotten every collectors edition console since 3. Unfortunately I didn’t stand a chance. I was hoping I could settle for the collectors edition physical copy but that wasn’t announced. I bet you’ll see some online for noon scalper price in a year or two…

They’re called Scalper Bots. Microsoft literally should have known Scalpers would be an issue and yet they put in no contingencies, no protections no nothing. Valve and GameStop have contingencies in place right now to stop them. Valve with their Steam Deck says if you haven’t made a purchase in 6 months, their out of luck and can’t Pre-Order or anything. GameStop has a protection where if you are a Pro Member, you get first Dibs on the wave of consoles for one week! Microsoft is clearly unequipped to handle these people

Not always. The Humans over at Valve put in soft ware that detects if purchases are made in the last 6 Months. If no purchases were made in 6 Months, then can’t pre-order. Game Stop has software that detects if you’re a pro member and if you are, protected for a week from Scalpers. 343i and Microsoft are literally not ahead of this issue like Game Stop and Valve.
It’s sad to see. There are hundreds of them for sale on eBay already, most priced at near $1000. True fans won’t be able to enjoy them without paying a hefty price.

The site was so slow from the flood of people, but I sat there clicking “pre-order” repeatedly, hoping. Miraculously, it did eventually give me the option to add one to my cart. I got excited and clicked on the checkout option immediately…and then it tells me that the item is out of stock. This is the equivalent of being shopping at a real store on Black Friday: you successfully snag the last one, and on the way to the register some jerk runs by, snatches it out of your hands, and sprints for the door.
There really should be a scalper system that stops multiple purchases of an item at once.
Yep. I too was emmensly dissapointed. My only hope now is to see a new in box version at a somewhat reasonable price. Its disgusting how microsoft didn’t event fsctor this in, and also probably dont care. We all have to suffer for these dange scalper bots and the individuals that utalize them.
Yeah I guess I won’t get one either though I’ve been patiently waiting for the Halo edition before I upgrade. I’m NOT going to pay one penny to scalpers, ever. Sad days. I wonder if there will be any available at physical stores, or is it just preorder online and that’s it?

I know that was really disappointing these scalpers don’t even care there so greedy they’re selling them at a outrageous price the cheapest one I seen was 900 dollars on eBay

If they are boycotted hard enough in theory they will have to lower their prices or take massive losses, I would imagine there will be those who make the purchase anyways though.

There always are. That’s why scalpers do it: they know there’s always someone desperate enough to spend the money just for the sake of having one. You, I, and a hundred other people might vow they’ll never get that much money out of us, but they know there’s always going to be a few who have more money than patience or willpower.
