So I just got done playing the custom campaign Takedown Project Lawson and I have to say, bar the sub-par VA (any voice acting is great though) and the under-par animations, the campaign as a whole was awesome and I’m looking forward to the next chapter.
As I was playing though, I did feel like the whole format of the campaign was really smooth and created a nice twist of gameplay in the Halo universe. I guess it could be the fact that it has small RPG elements thrown in but it made me think that maybe a Halo game created with a squad-like element would be a refreshing take for a spinoff game.
I will link the campaign page at the end of the post, but I really think that a Halo game with a Republic Commando style system would work great. Also adding side missions in small hubs which give you rewards to start future missions was an awesome addition. Watching a preview of the next campaign chapter I heard he was going to add a couple of choices in conversation too.
All in all if you haven’t played it you should check it out; I really think an official entire game with this type of gameplay would be amazing.
