Halo & Crysis

So I was just thinking that some players compare newer Halo games to the CoD games.

But I have yet to see Halo multiplayer compared to the Crysis multiplayer which seems to resemble each other in gameplay more than CoD.

For example both have supersuits which is just the first and rather common thing to add health but its something that CoD does differently so i list it.

Both H5g and Crysis 2 have a form of armor abilities like both have the ground pound move, both have similar motion system as in clambering, sliding and such.

So anyone other think that the multiplayer modes in both games seem similar excluding the chooseable armor abilities on the fly on Crysis like cloak or maximum armor?

Im not saying they are exactly similar but just a random thought.

Yeah I see where you’re coming from. I think the reason it’s compared more to CoD is because CoD is more well-known. Additionally, Halo already had shields and stuff long before Crysis, but simply added a version of ADS and movement mechanics like sliding.

Definitely Halo had many things before crysis given its older franchise but its not the point, not even something I mentioned in the topic. I simply mentioned things that make both resemble each other.

And crysis doesnt have shields as game mechanic but rather a shared energy pool for various armor abilities which have to be activated. So thats one more difference.

Replied based on ^ that.

Maybe it would be compared to Crysis more rather than CoD if Crysis multiplayer was more popular. I totally forgot Crysis even had multiplayer.

Could be. Crysis has been less of a multiplayer game than mentioned bigger franchices which is interesting since crysis has interesting base gameplay mechanics and like Halo the first one was ahead of its time though back then it was more of a PC thing.

Interesting as in not in a way that every game needs to have same gameplay mechanics as Crysis or Titanfall. Just writing because those types seem to be trending now. And not saying those did the things in them first. Just using them as example.

Also, variety of different multiplayers is good, every game following a trend, situational. And situational in a sense that sometimes it forms a new types of popular mechanics both good and in bad. Some mechanics though are good in some games and not so much in others.
Also, maybe I stop here because this is getting off tracks.

I still dont see at which part I mentioned some game doing something first. It just reads that the gameplay mechanics resemble each other and nothing chronological included.

Though I get why someone would get such impression and thats why when I wrote the topic I tried not to mention any game doing something first and rather just try to keep comparison neutral timewise.

Just trying to have a conversation not an argument. See ya!

Didnt see this as an argument but if you feel that way then nothing i can do about that.

Its just hard to see in what way people think what they write things since all you see is text. No facial expressions or tone of voice for example.

Though if you still read this i would appreciate your opinion on how would I write it so that it wouldnt turn into someone/anyone thinking that I would imply that something did it first.

In the other case that you left then good day and perhaps see you on another topic.

You’re absolutely right. My apologies here, it seemed like you were being defensive about the wording of your post rather than discussing the topic contained within, but the limitations of text communication are definitely evident and probably what caused a miscommunication.
