Halo community...will never be happy

It won’t happen I know that. But I would literally rather pay that.

I payed half and I had a game to play for 3 years.

And then I got halo 3.

Just saiyan.

Oh ok makes sense.

I mean to be fair one could argue that any Halo game (especially the older ones) that had good support for competitive play was going to be a huge success. Halo is one of those rare games with a huge amount of pros/amateurs that have been playing for like 15 years. The only others games I can think of like this are CoD, CS:GO, and maybe Gears of War. So what I am saying here is that if Halo 4 had basically any real support competitively it would’ve been far far larger Esports wise lol.

I don’t know about that. Although you could definitely see some crazy outplays, I think the insanely fast movement led to it being difficult for casuals to understand what is going on. It can give you some serious headaches watching for long periods of time lol.

Probably because the mangler is so easy to spam. Regardless, Halo 5 had an AR as a secondary weapon on start until 2018, Halo 5 didn’t hit its peaks for years. Infinite is still a baby, I don’t think we can accurately judge it too well until a year or so later competitively.

It had a unique skillgap pretty similar to what you see from Titanfall or something, with some great things like its starting weapon and some good map design, but Infinite also has its own value from a competitive POV. Equipment is most obvious positive, but things like the super slides and good core settings tell me its going to have a healthy meta over time.

Infinite will have new maps, new weapons, new modes (Extraction please :crossed_fingers: ) and will have some tweaks to its competitive settings over time. This would be like comparing Reach v7 to Reach v1 lol, Infinite already has a great starting point Esports wise, so sky is the limit.

Repeat after me. One bomb evolved.

Don’t need more stockpile.

Again debatable.

I really want to see it but I’ll tell you right now there is things I can’t let go like the collision. Idk how people are playing for money on this game. The moment someone phases through me and we both trade even tho none of us are one shot I would loose it. That’s the thing. I know 343 can do it but everything is flailing in the wind and we look around and people are just shrugging their shoulders.

That sounds almost too weird to be desync. Latency normally does things that are weird.

I have clips of me phasing through someone twice and both of us are confused and then trade. I tested it out in custom games. It seems like the faster you go the more you phase through your enemy. It’s when we really tried sprinting at eachother that you will completely phase through. Especially if you intentionally try to make the game glitch like pressing Sprint slide rapidly as you run into someone

I expected some elaborate strats or tactics like maybe two players would merge (collide in other words) walk straight in a certain direction, then they’d split at a certain time and screw someone over lol. It seems to be irrelevant at top level play. Desync is horrible on Pro Series (the online qualifier matches) but on LAN its gucci so a lot of the issues with Infinite are not impactful on top level play because of the zero latency setting.

Like even if you think about something like nade jumps one has to wonder how valuable they are when you can just mantle everywhere (were nade jumps ever done in Halo 5? I never saw one)

edit: did you watch the video?

How to make the Halo Community happy again in three easy steps -

  • Step ONE - Make me the franchise director
  • Step TWO - I fix everything
  • Step THREE - We have fun in the game.

I vote give it to bambi. It can’t get any worse than MCC. They fixed that game in three months. Only two more months to go!

They took about five years to fix MCC enough to be playable online.

And yeah, my first edict as Franchise Director would be to soft-reboot the Reclaimer Saga.

Basically a redo of Halo 4 to extend the story and make it feel more Halo and fix the art style and gameplay issues, Halo Spartan Ops becomes a spin-off game to introduce the members of Fireteam Osiris and properly bridge the gap between 4 and 5, and Halo 5’s original script is restored to ret-con Brian Reed’s fanfiction that is Halo 5 Guardians.

This way the stories and gameplay would be more likable and it will lead a bit more consistently into halo Wars 2 and Halo Infinite.

But in all seriousness, this is how I would do Halo 4’s story -

I have part one of three for Spartan-Ops down to a Tee -

And I have restored Halo 5 to its former glory from before Brian Reed rewrote the script during the last year of development -

EDIT -
These are plot summaries, not full scripts.
That would take even more time.

Considering its built suck as much cash as possible out of whales like all these predatory storefronts with games attached, is it really that surprising that just tinkering with prices isn’t going to change anything?

Everyone is forced to deal with this expensive, in terms of both time and money, system for something as simple as colors to chase the minority of (often vulnerable) people that prop up the freemium economy gold rush and people are tired of it.

It turns the most basic of customizations into chores and its all by design, but sure its just those entitled Halo fans that are the problem…

Just make sure I can choose the length of my cat ears lol

Preach, the lot of them are dunces.

No this is a massive fallacy.

All games multiplayer or otherwise can be and still are profitable at the US $60 price point (and the normal regional pricing elsewhere). The economics of the industry does not necessitate a massive increase in price for games. That’s a nonsense corporate propaganda argument.

Micro transactions are an unethical and arguably immoral add on that has been cancerous to gaming.

Studios and publishers know however not having them is giving up a stupid amount of profit with little to know cost to the developers.

This caused by ignorant or just plain stupid gamers who are without exaggerating, psychologically manipulated into buying them. It is a massive opportunity cost to NOT exploit your customers in this industry. It is a sick practice.

So no games would not be $200 USD in the US. Unless of course MS thought you’d be stupid enough to pay that much.

The Economics as a whole has raised.
Prices have raised exorbantly over the past thirty years and yet videogames fight to keep their prices the same.
How much did Housing cost in 1990?
What about Bread?
What about a new car?

Strange how everything else raised in prices and videogames stayed the same.

The way EA and Activision portray them is unethical.
Halo 5, as much as I hate the game, did them right with the fact that you couldn’t get duplicates.
Microtransactiosn are a means of providing a steadier income-flow.
Before Microtransactions, a game company only made income when the game released and when they made a DLC pack. Others found ways around this, such as MMOs with their monthly subscription.

They actually would be, were it not for constant DLC packs and Microtransactions.
It is why some games go Free-To-Play, because they guarantee that they will get their money’s worth with Microtransactions, so why bother with the initial purchase price tag?
Are Microtransactions easily abused? Yeah, not going to deny that.
But it is a better alternative to have optional pay for the products extras than to pay a much higher initial price for the the product plus all these optional items.
Are they asking us to buy weapons and characters like EA does? NO. It is all cosmetics.
