Halo 5 and halo infinite are imperfect halo 3’s. How many championships did halo 5 have?

Is that a 1v1 challenge? :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember it like it was yesterday. No dropped games. No lag. No desync. Rock solid 60 frames. I think there were some acheivements broken but overall the entire game worked like a charm. It didn’t have any where near as many issues as infinite still has.

Sure no btb sucked.

Sure the campagin sucked(story wise)

Sure no forge sucked.

But honestly those things were a drop in the bucket cause forge came in December and the campaign was fully functional AND co op. Anyone can hate the game all they want but in 2015 you definitely weren’t scammed out of 60 bucks.

AND I got to play for all the items for free.

Pretty much at this point the abilities and campagin are people’s only real complaints. The rest of the game. The entire game was and is still better than Halo infinite.

I do believe things will get better. Not trying to say it won’t but Halo 5 was far from a failure. In fact it was a massive success. I wasn’t seeing all this hate in the forums when Halo 5 came out(aside from the story and sparatan charge).

It terms of HCS? A lot actually.

In fact Halo 5 was what got competitive Halo back on the radar.

When HCS settings became popular MLG picked them back up after dropping Halo since halo reach- Halo 4 days

I mean… Halo 5 has more in common with Halo CE than it does Halo 3, but I digress.

World championships? It had 3. 2016, 2017, 2018. It had a lot of majors and just tournaments in general though. I will look up for you.

Here: https://halo-esports.fandom.com/wiki/Portal:Tournaments/Majors
You can find out all the large ones right there, but if you navigate a bit you’ll see all the Halo 5/Infinite tournaments whether it be in NA or EU and so on.

I don’t mind someone saying halo 5 was a progression but.

Halo 3 BTB worked
The campaign was a full story
It had forge day one

In addition you could go to the events when they were in your area and play the game with no input lag. And if you couldn’t go to the event it was only 3 weeks before the next major and there were like 4 nationals. There were rarely any tech issues with the game restarts etc. No need for excuses and negotiation.

There is a reason halo5 is not weighed as heavy as H2 and H3. Weighed more in terms of scope of course to H1 but definitely not H3.

Maybe H2. Halo 5 was not ever in any way considered the golden age of halo. There is a reason some consider it the golden age of esports.

As much as I like Halo 5. I agree it wasn’t the golden age of Halo but it definitely was the golden age of eSports for sure.

I mean, I get what you’re saying. But as someone who grew up poor playing games that had to be complete at launch, and saw the rise of DLC which first started as mostly honest to goodness expansions, I’m not comfortable paying $7 for one Helmet. I don’t care that the game is free to play, it feels like they’re doing their best to rip people off.

I agree. Growing up from that era definitely gives me a different out look on things. I never imagined microtransactions being in video games.

I grew up in the era before microtransactions as well, which is why I will never purchase them. I would rather buy the game and earn them in-game.

Yeah ok. Anytime someone tells you an online game has no lag just immediately take their words with a grain of salt lol.

No game, Yes I repeat no online game has ever had no lag. Lag is inherent to the system. Unless you only play LAN’s all day erryday it is unavoidable. Like if you had said CE had no lag it would’ve been funny but to say Halo 5 had no lag is just intellectually dishonest.

Nah. I don’t like to play Infinite, I like to complain about it :joy_cat:

That’s debatable. Halo 5 in terms of prize pools and maybe just general interest/viewership could be considered the top Halo game competitively (it’ll undoubtedly be outmatched by Infinite in about 1-2 years though) but in terms of competition and things like storylines and whatnot Halo 2/3 are probably the peak. CE fans would argue CE but I think that CE had far lower levels of competition compared to a lot of other Halo’s with all due respect.

There is a video where Ogre 2/1 talks about Halo history, I would 1000% recommend it because its the best history lesson you will ever get lol.

And this ladies and gentlemen is why Halo will always be split. Not because of what we like. But because 343 keeps inventing the wheel.

Pffft totally fair, but name the game and I’m down lol.

Literally exactly the same here sis.

I like some of you new people to this franchise. Have to say a lot of what is being said about 343i and their usage of the franchise can always be DEBATABLE.

I think reinventing the wheel is what brought us to halo 4. Again debatable. I think halo 5 was too much changed. Again very debatable. Talking halo as a whole. One game versus another is difficult especially when you are looking on it on paper (I still need to look at a tourney portal and I was around and playing then).

There is more to some of the comments I make. YES! They are ALL debatable. I was able to play h2 from the day I bought I think it was 60$ might have been 50$ and easily paid 2x what I paid for DLC maps when I bought the game and gladly played from beginning to end (ENJOYING COMPLAINING ABOUT IT BEGINNING TO END I am looking at YOU cassette) all the way up to halo 3. Again I played halo 2 all the way to Halo 3 with a half a million kills in just that one game. Again from halo 2 the only other game I enjoyed more than halo 2 was halo 3.

Again very very debatable.

Most bang for your buck AND I didn’t feel cheated. Why this is relevant to the conversation.

Ofcourse you want to play nitpick. Obviously all games have some lag. You know exactly what I ment. No lag as in the game worked enough to where every kill mattered. In halo infinite all load of ish is going on. Stuttered. Weird phase throughs. Beyond broken melees. Sometimes I don’t even know what going on because my spartan is teleporting everywhere. I’m sorry but it wasn’t like that in halo 5 and no one can say otherwise. Forget about me not liking the game. This is actually the worst gaming experience I ever had in my life. My PC can more than handle this game and it’s the only game out of all other games that just craps the bed. Every day.

One day Halo infinite players will admit it. Even my friend admitted it. I told him Halo 5 was peak Halo and he didn’t want to believe it until all the new games came out. Infinite comes out and guess what bothers him. The store. He’s not even a big competitive person and he just felt slapped in the face with how the store has been handled. Then we play the game and realize how limited it is. It’s not like they took Halo 3 and gave it Sprint. They took Halo 5 and took away the Sprint. What I mean by that is the core of how Halo 3 worked as a whole was the not the basis for this game. It was Halo 5. The slide and clamber we’re designed with the other ablities. Maybe different people work there now but idk if 343 realizes that they timed everything with the thrusters. The slide. The clamber. The stabilize. All of these things were measured with the thruster. They all fit like puzzle pieces together. In halo infinite they removed those puzzle pieces. Halo 3 is a different puzzle entirely but Halo infinite is the same Halo 5 puzzle with pieces removed. Halo infinite drains all of the fun that people had in halo 5. There is a reason why HCS had interest. It was not only fun to play but fun to watch. A lot of crazy plays happened back to back. This made it more far more engaging. In halo infinite. There’s a lot of waiting around corners. A lot of shielding up. Trust me I hated the spartan charge like no other but 343 had something with Halo 5 and a lot of people are saying it behind closed doors. Sure that’s my ancedotal story. I can’t verify all the random party chats I get into but what I’m saying isn’t unpopular

I keep tracking dog poo (underhanded store practices) into my friend’s house and they’re upset with me. I scrape a little bit off beforehand each time, but they’re still never happy. I don’t think they ever will be. Always saying something smells.

(I don’t know. Maybe stop coming in with crud on your shoes and you’ll be warmly welcomed with nothing to complain about?)

Edit: (Guys, in this analogy the crud on your shoes are microtransactions. I’m not calling 343 themselves poo! Microtransactions will always carry a foul smell, and will always make people unhappy.)

What’s funny is we gave them bags for their shoes even if they are still in the house and they refuse to use the bags and keeps on strutting into the kitchen

I normally wash the crud off with a hose before I step in the house put a towel down and put the shoes on that before I put the shoes in the house :stuck_out_tongue:

If they smell I leave them outside.

You missed the point there.

Not everyone can throw $200 around like it is nothing.
So it would result in extremely low sales.
